The Role

As a Corporate Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of our organization. Your primary responsibility will be to identify, evaluate, and execute strategic initiatives that align with our business objectives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify potential mergers and acquisitions (M&A), partnerships, joint ventures, fundraising and other strategic opportunities that enhance our competitive position and foster long-term value creation. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical skills, a strong business acumen, and the ability to navigate complex transactions and negotiations.

Responsibilities

1. Strategic Planning and Analysis:

- Conduct thorough analysis of market trends, competitive landscapes, and industry dynamics to identify growth opportunities and potential risks.

- Develop and refine the company's strategic roadmap based on market insights, business goals, and financial objectives.

- Collaborate with senior leadership to evaluate potential strategic initiatives and prioritize opportunities.

2. Fundraising, M&A, and Partnerships:

- Lead equity and/or debt fundraising process, identifying funds and investors, pitch decks, roadshows, and due diligence.

- Lead end-to-end M&A activities, including target identification, due diligence, financial analysis, valuation, negotiations, and integration planning.

- Identify and evaluate potential partnerships and joint ventures to expand market reach, drive innovation, and create mutually beneficial relationships.

- Develop business cases and financial models to assess the viability and potential impact of proposed transactions.

3. Financial Analysis and Modeling:

- Perform comprehensive financial analyses, including valuation, pro forma financial statements, return on investment (ROI), and synergy assessments, to support decision-making processes.

- Conduct due diligence activities, including financial, operational, legal, and regulatory assessments, to identify risks, opportunities, and integration challenges.

- Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to evaluate potential deals, assess performance, and monitor post-transaction success.

4. Negotiations and Deal Execution:

- Collaborate with legal, finance, and other relevant teams to structure deals, assist with drafting terms, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

- Coordinate and manage external advisors, such as investment banks, legal counsel, and consultants, throughout the transaction process.

5. Stakeholder Management:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, board members, potential partners, and industry experts.

- Present strategic proposals, transaction updates, and financial analyses to senior management and the board of directors.

- Communicate and collaborate effectively across departments to drive alignment and support the successful execution of strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or management consulting, with a focus on M&A and strategic initiatives.
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial information and perform detailed financial modeling and valuation.
  • Excellent negotiation and deal execution abilities, with a track record of successfully closing complex transactions.
  • Solid understanding of business strategy, competitive dynamics, and market trends.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build relationships across cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis tools and software.
