Engineering Manager
Regard
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and delivery of product features, collaborating closely with product and design partners to drive user satisfaction and product adoption
- Manage and support a team of engineers through regular coaching, feedback, and career development
- Drive technical architecture decision-making, and contribute to both front end and backend system design, balancing long-term scalability with near-term delivery
- Support the team in maintaining production system reliability and performance, including participation in on-call rotations
- Contribute to the codebase when needed to unblock the team or gain hands-on understanding of technical challenges
- Drive execution on complex technical projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals
- Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, product, and clinical subject matter experts to ensure smooth coordination and communication
Qualifications:
- BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- 2+ years of experience managing engineering teams of 5 or more
- 6+ years of experience building and maintaining production software systems
- Demonstrated experience in either backend or frontend development at a senior level
- Proficiency with cloud infrastructure and services (e.g., AWS)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and observability tools (e.g., GitHub/GitLab, ArgoCD, Datadog, Sentry)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a dynamic startup and/or high growth environments
- Experience working in enterprise SaaS environment, or health tech
- Exposure to generative AI tools or development
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Hybrid Work | Location | Work Authorization
- For this role, Regard is currently only considering candidates who are authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship, and are within the New York City metro area
- We expect our Managers to be in the office at least 3 days per week. We may request more frequent in-office work during the onboarding period
- We will provide relocation assistance to anyone who does not already reside in the NYC metro area
- We prefer hiring people within commuting distance of our NYC office because we value getting together in person regularly

- Additionally, hybrid employees have the flexibility to work from locations outside of their home office from up to 6 weeks per year
