We are looking for a Data Engineer to help us map and structure information about the U.S. electricity market. You will build and maintain ETL pipelines that ingest, normalize, and store data from ISOs/RTOs and other public sources, directly contributing to our core data products and M&A intelligence capabilities.

Key responsibilities

ETL and pipelines

  • Build and maintain ETL pipelines to ingest data from ISOs/RTOs (MISO, PJM, ERCOT, SPP, and others)
  • Parse, normalize, and validate large structured and semi-structured datasets
  • Automate data extraction from public sources, regulatory filings, and queue publications
  • Work hands-on with Apache Airflow for pipeline orchestration

Data quality

  • Implement data validation checks and QA processes across pipelines
  • Detect and resolve data anomalies, duplicates, and inconsistencies
  • Contribute to monitoring and alerting mechanisms for early issue detection
  • Maintain documentation of data sources, schemas, and transformation logic

Market mapping

  • Map U.S. electricity market data including interconnection queues, generation assets, and ownership structures
  • Research and integrate new data sources related to renewable energy projects
  • Support the expansion of our data products, datasets, and data APIs
  • Collaborate with product and ops to translate data needs into pipeline requirements

Infrastructure

  • Manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases for large-scale energy data
  • Work within Azure cloud infrastructure for deployment and storage
  • Identify and address bottlenecks in data capture and processing workflows
  • Design performant data models for structured and relational energy datasets

What we offer

  • 100% remote from Argentina, with a team distributed across Argentina and Israel
  • 2 in-person team gatherings per year with team-building activities
  • Small, focused team where your impact is visible and your decisions matter
  • Direct collaboration with the CTO and real input into technical direction
  • Grow alongside a company at the intersection of technology and the energy transition

Required qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands-on Python development in a data engineering context
  • Strong experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL and relational data modeling
  • Proven ability to work with large data volumes and build performant pipelines
  • High proficiency in English in an English-first technical environment
  • Proactive, self-driven, and comfortable working autonomously

Nice to have

  • Experience in the energy sector (utilities, renewables, ISOs/RTOs)
  • Familiarity with Apache Airflow or similar orchestration tools
  • Experience working with Azure cloud services
  • Experience with web scraping and data extraction (Playwright, Selenium, etc.)
