JOB TITLE: HIPPY & ECE Coordinator
WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Exempt
REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Community Engagement and Wellness Initiatives
PAY GRADE: Admin Prof 3 (230 days)
DEPARTMENT: State & Federal Programs
DATE REVISED: 06/2026
This position is not eligible for a Chapter 21 contract. A Letter of Assurance will be issued.
PRIMARY PURPOSE: Coordinate the implementation of the HIPPY/HIEPE Programs. Support families, students, staff, and community partners by providing instructional support, staff supervision, family engagement, community partnerships, grant implementation, and program evaluation to ensure student and family success.
Qualifications
Minimum Education/Certification:
- Master's Degree
- Valid Texas Teaching Certificate preferred
- Valid Texas Mid Management/Principal Educator Certification preferred
- Early Childhood Education background preferred
- Excellent communication, verbal and writing skills in English (Spanish preferred)
- Knowledge of early childhood education, family engagement, and home visitation programs
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- At least three (3) years of successful experience coordinating school/community-based programs or projects
- Budget experience preferred
- Leadership and/or supervisory experience preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Coordinate parent services to support early childhood families in the education of their children.
- Collaborate with Early Childhood leadership and district departments to support school readiness, family engagement, and successful transitions into Irving ISD schools
- Provide ongoing staff development and training to Home Instructors
- Coordinate program events, parent meetings, field trips, and family engagement activities
- Submit data submission of the HIPPY/HIEPE students for PEIMS
- Attend mandatory regional and national workshops and meetings and incorporate learning to enhance the local program
- Participate in all aspects of program evaluation, accreditation, data collection, and research activities
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
- Assist campuses in developing strong parent relationships and family engagement practices
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills in relating to staff, parents and community members
- Develop basic work behaviors and team building skills among home instructors
- Recruit, interview, and select parents or community members for positions as home instructors
- Supervise, coach, and evaluate Home Instructors three times a year and provide 1:1 reflective supervision on a monthly basis
- Request donations from corporate sponsors, businesses, and organizations
- Review and approve monthly mileage reports
- Oversee student and family enrollment process
- Work with Irving Schools Foundation in HIPPY scholarship awarding process/procedures
- Consult with ECS and ES administrators in case management of student problems and issues and needs of HIPPY/HIEPE students
- Assist in the coordination of community services that will benefit children and families
- Coordinate the various community elements involved with the HIPPY/HIEPE program, such as daycares, libraries, recreation centers, medical and social service providers
- Collaborate with district department coordinators such as; TAPPS, Project PASS, Parent Involvement, Migrant, Family Outreach, and At-Risk to provide support to families
- Assist in the planning and facilitate HIPPY Advisory Council
- Provide community outreach for recruitment and participate in district events to recruit prospective HIPPY families
- Attend professional growth activities to keep abreast of innovations in guidance and counseling and parent services, early childhood development, parent education and parental involvement.

Working Conditions
Mental Demands Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written). Maintain emotional control and exercise reasoning and problem-solving skills while under stress. Must work on multiple projects simultaneously while still meeting deadlines. Work within tight deadlines. Occasional in-district and out of district travel. Once a year out-of-state travel is required by HIPPY International. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours. Must be able to lift 10 LBS.
Physical Demands: Frequent in-district and occasional in-state travel. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
Environment: Frequent home visits
