Ocean Spray Canada is seeking an experienced, visionary Head of Marketing to accelerate growth across beverages, snacking, grocery, innovation, and emerging categories. This leader will steward the Ocean Spray brand portfolio in Canada, drive consumer-centric strategy, build breakthrough innovation, and partner closely with sales, insights, operations, and finance to deliver sustainable, profitable growth.

A Day in the Life...

  • Own the end-to-end marketing strategy for Ocean Spray Canada, including brand equity, positioning, communications, and long-range strategic planning.
  • Deliver annual and long-range top and bottom-line results for the cooperative.
  • Lead annual brand planning, portfolio strategy, and fiscal performance management.
  • Liaise with International Marketing (COE) to ensure brand consistency and alignment with Ocean Spray’s global strategy while tailoring execution for the Canadian consumer.
  • Lead the Canadian innovation agenda – from concept development and market sizing to commercialization and launch execution.
  • Identify whitespace growth opportunities in beverages, functional wellness, snacking, and emerging categories.
  • Partner with R&D and cross functional teams to deliver insight-led consumer-validated product pipelines.
  • Champion a consumer-first mindset using insights, trends, and analytics to guide brand and innovation decisions.
  • Oversee market research plans and shopper insights initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Insights and Category management to understand retailer dynamics and identify growth opportunities.
  • Develop and execute full marketing campaigns – leading media strategy, content development, social strategy, PR, and experiential marketing in partnership with agency support.
  • Deliver robust measurement frameworks to evaluate ROI, media performance, and brand health.
  • Strong collaboration with sales team to ensure alignment between brand strategy and customer needs.
  • Leads and sets distribution, shelving, merchandising, and pricing strategies.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop talent – this role has 1 direct report.
  • Manage marketing budgets with strong financial discipline.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field, MBA is a plus
  • 10+ years of experience in progressive roles in CPG, beverage, food, or like field
  • Proven track record of growing brands in the Canadian market
  • Experience leading end-to-end innovation from concept to shelf
  • Ability to develop talent
  • Strength in brief writing
  • Insights Driven. Must have experience interpreting various types of syndicated data. E.g. AC Nielsen, LDIA, Dunnhumby, IRI etc.
  • Experience with New Product Development (NPD) including technical aspects (e.g., leading consumer research, developing claims, product design, regulatory/legal requirements, and navigating approval and product coding systems)

Education

Bachelor's or University Degree (Required) Master's Degree (Preferred)
