As Business Development Manager, China Branded, you will own Ocean Spray branded B2C retail & ecommerce business in mainland China under our light touch operating model. You will select and onboard qualified channel partners and distributors, drive net sales growth, optimize operating income (OI%) and deliver sustainable profitable business results. You will identify new business opportunities, build multi-level stakeholder relationships, develop annual account plans, interpret market and customer insights to formulate commercial strategies, and align cross functional resources to execute business development roadmaps and hit business objectives.
A Day in the Life...
- Develop and execute annual business & account plans, covering channel strategy, new‑product roadmap, distribution expansion, online & offline assortment framework, trade promotion calendar and go‑to‑market tactics for Ocean Spray branded consumer portfolio.
- Select, onboard, train, coach and incentivize external channel / broker partners. Track performance against volume targets, budget spend and MBO goals, drive performance improvement for partners.
- Lead quarterly business review meetings with channel partners; develop sales enablement toolkits for partner teams. Own SPR opportunity intake workflow, trade deduction management, trade flexibility and end‑to‑end promotion governance.
- Engage with senior‑level stakeholders of e‑commerce & retail partners, deeply understand partner business models and key projects; balance partner requirements against Ocean Spray’s commercial targets and profitability (OI%) objectives.
- Collect B2C market intelligence including category trends, competitor activity and consumer insights; uncover new channel opportunities for branded product portfolio across major domestic online platforms.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with marketing, supply‑chain, logistics, legal and finance teams to align new‑product launches, resolve operational bottlenecks, mitigate channel risks and drive profitable top‑line growth.
- Monitor channel sell‑through, inventory health and P&L performance; deliver regular forecasting and business performance updates to Asia leadership team.
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Business Administration, Marketing, Food Science or related disciplines; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 5-7 years of branded FMCG/CPG industry or food beverage industry experience covering sales, management or product‑related functions, with proven track record managing China e‑commerce and retail business under a distributor‑broker light‑touch operating model. Hands‑on end‑to‑end e‑commerce operation experience, solid product management capabilities, and direct experience acting as P&L owner for branded business. Demonstrated expertise in partner selection, full‑lifecycle channel management, trade promotion planning, and profitability delivery.
- Strong managerial leadership, excellent communication, negotiation and cross‑team collaboration capabilities. Solid organizational skills with proficiency in financial modelling and scenario planning, plus working knowledge of tax‑compliance requirements. Proven ability to deliver complex cross‑functional projects, and thrive in fast‑paced, dynamic business environments.
- Business‑level English proficiency for global cross‑border collaboration, fluent in Chinese.
