Profile sought

We are looking for someone who is passionate about the environment and curious about the complex systems that surround us, who wants to invest in an entrepreneurial project with a strong environmental impact!

You are an engineering student or equivalent, in a gap year or at the end of your studies
You have excellent communication, project management and problem solving skills, and are proactive in reaching out to partners
You have some experience with Python, Git, and data engineering
You are familiar with one or more carbon impact measurement methodologies: Carbon Footprint, LCA, GHG Protocol, etc.
You can understand industrial processes and break them down into pieces
You are comfortable reading and understanding complex calculation models in a code format
You are detail-oriented and critical, with a keen eye for identifying and discussing potential calculation issues
You like to work in a team, learn, and discover new areas
Please do not worry if you don’t match all these: we prefer people to bullet points, and are interested in discussing with you if you think it is worth it!

Collaborate with our partners to manage project certification: collect data, perform LCAs using internal (Python-based) models, and ensure compliance with our eligibility criteria
Understand the technical, carbon, and business aspects of different technologies; from biochar production to electronics refurbishing and carbon dioxide removal
Master our Riverse Standard Rules, eligibility criteria, and methodologies, to enforce quality and rigor in project application reviews and project certification
Contribute to the improvement of our impact assessment models on Python (create or modify code, review code, and coordinate with the tech/development team for significant changes)
Maintain a balance between quality and pace in certification processes by communicating with project leaders and auditors

Recruitment process

First 30 min video-conversation, to get to know you, introduce yourself and discuss what you are looking for with Clément
Quick test on a concrete case, and debriefing with Erica
A 30 min conversation with Grégoire and Ludovic

Environment & Benefits

Paid internship (1300 to 1750€ / month depending on your experience)
Office in the center of Paris or Lyon (Fr)
A start-up atmosphere: a high level of responsibility and impact, no micro-management, experimentation encouraged!
We aim to promote the balance between professional and personal life as much as possible
We put effort into developing a culture that emphasizes well-being
We love working asynchronously
A united team, oriented towards a common goal and driven by the Riverse values

Diversity, inclusion & equity

We are working to create a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment, where everyone has a space to thrive. We firmly believe that fostering inclusion is an ongoing journey that requires unwavering commitment. Our goal is to establish an authentic environment that is welcoming to all individuals, irrespective of their nationality, physical ability, family structure, age, socio-economic status, civil status, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnic origin, religion, belief, or any other characteristic that makes their life experience unique.
We are at the beginning of building our company and our culture, and are extremely interested to talk about these topics if you are interested too!
