Job Summary:
The Electro-Mechanical Technician will be responsible for the repair of various SFI components. The day to day could cover a variety of assembly types that include Stall Warning systems, Auto Throttle Systems and Secondary Flight Control transmission systems, this role will be expected to participate in system troubleshooting and diagnostics. They will often interact with Quality Test technicians and Engineering to resolve technical issues. In this role the technician will need to comprehend assembly documentation comprising of Blueprints, General safely and properly utilize required tooling, operate material handling equipment, record system information, adhere to company policies, and interact positively with other team members. Some finished systems could be large and require someone who can physically maneuver around the product. The ideal candidate will be a positive, energetic, self-motivating individual who is ready to learn and contribute to the mission.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot technical issues with varying levels of complexity.
- Have a working knowledge of Mechanical & electrical theory.
- Read and interpret work instructions, drawings, schematics, and other production related documentation. Blueprint interpretation is beneficial.
- Solder, and assembly skill.
- Utilize a combination of basic hand tools and power tools.
- Utilize measuring tools such as multi-meters, continuity checker, Oscilloscopes, etc.
- Provide assembly feedback and suggested changes or improvements.
- Complete build records and documentation as required.
- Conducts quality checks on own work and may execute buddy checks on others work.
- Maintain workspace cleanliness and organizational skills.
- Follow SFI guidelines and procedures.
- Adhere to company regulatory and compliance policies.
- Participate in cross-training activities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Read and comprehend complex manuals and diagrams.
- Must be computer literate, possess good written, verbal and interpersonal skills and be fluent in English.
- Must have the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance (US citizenship required). (This can be adjusted accordingly to NYS Law requirements)
- ESD Awareness
- Average computer skills used for daily employee tasks.
Education and Experience:
- 2+ years’ experience in mechanical, manufacturing or research and development assembly
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in an ISO or AS9100 certified manufacturing facility; and with surface mount assembly a plus.
