Job Details: Annual Salary $85,000. Must be able to work Monday through Friday office hours 8:00 to 4:45 p.m.

Job Summary:

As a Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our aerospace products meet and exceed the highest quality standards. Your expertise in quality management systems, quality control principles, attention to detail, and ability to work semi-autonomously will be crucial in maintaining our commitment to excellence.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement quality assurance strategies to ensure compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory agencies.
  • Work with a team of quality assurance technicians, providing analysis and other required information to arrive at corrective actions or process improvements.
  • Assist/conduct internal audits of manufacturing processes, ensuring adherence to quality control protocols and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and supply chain, to establish quality objectives, resolve quality-related issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead investigations into internal and external non-conformities, customer complaints, and product failures, implementing corrective and preventive actions to mitigate risks and ensure product quality.
  • Coordinate and participate in internal and external quality audits, addressing audit findings and implementing appropriate corrective actions.
  • Inspection of parts on the factory floor as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of quality management systems (AS9100D) and first article inspections (AS9102C).
  • Knowledge of FAA Part 21 and Part 145 requirements.
  • Experience with supplier quality - RCCA, Nonconforming Materials, CAPA, etc.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, inspection techniques, and statistical analysis tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, with keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate across different departments and levels of the organization.

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

  • Prior experience with aerospace electronics manufacturers on the OEM or Tier 1 level, including TSO/PMA holders and FAA repair stations.
  • Prior experience internal auditing to AS9100/FAA requirements.
  • J-STD-001 or IPC-A-610/620/630 experience.
  • Six Sigma yellow, green or black belt.
  • ASQ certification or equivalent.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field. A relevant combination of education and experience may be considered.

Physical Requirements:

  • Walking or moving, using hands/fingers to handle or feel, talking or hearing and seeing
