Science On Call is the tech support platform for restaurants. We are a fast-growing, venture-backed startup, graduated from the Techstars Farm to Fork and Food Foundry accelerator programs, and have recently closed our seed round

We are transforming remote tech support by combining AI-powered problem-solving with automation tools and a hospitality-driven approach to customer service. This allows the hundreds of restaurants that we currently support from coast to coast to focus on delivering great food and great guest experiences rather than struggling with the technology issues that can bring down their operations.

The Senior Full Stack Engineer will join our product team, whose innovative work is considered pivotal to the future of Science On Call. In this role, you will report to the Head of Product and work closely with the CTO.

Responsibilities:

• Join our existing product team to become SOC’s lead (and first) in-house engineer
• Under the direction of our existing leadership team, help shape the amazing product we’re building with your engineering skills
• As we complete our initial testing phase of the product’s POC, we expect you to hit the ground running toward the next steps of our ambitious roadmap
• Help us create a product engineering culture and lead the building of a future team of engineers
• Continue to add to your existing expertise through ongoing professional development (we place high value on productive curiosity and problem-solving)

Expertise:

• Azure: Proficient in Azure Machine Learning services, Azure Cognitive Services, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
• LLM APIs: Experience with large language model APIs and integrating them into applications. (Langchain/LlamaIndex)
• Machine Learning: Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and frameworks (PyTorch, HuggingFace)

Experience:

• Professional Experience: 3+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering with a proven track record of deploying AI applications on Azure, specifically involving LLM APIs for GenAI
• DevOps Knowledge: familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Data Management: Experience in data preprocessing, cleaning, transformation, and knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases
• API Integration: Experience with creating and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating LLM-based services with other systems
• Automation: familiar with creating and managing bots in the Automation Anywhere environment
• Front End: experience in wireframing, UI/UX processes, and/or creating front end web pages
• Automations: Experience with “Digital Workers”/robotic process automation (RPA)

Education/Training:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field, with relevant Azure certifications being a plus

Preferred:

• Experience or understanding of hospitality and the restaurant industry in particular, or hospitality tech

Additional Details:

• This is a full-time, salaried position and includes our full benefits package
• The annual salary range for this positon is $125-150K
• The role is fully remote, though occasional in-person work sessions are expected — therefore we strongly prefer candidates located in Chicagoland or the Twin Cities metro area to be in proximity to our respective Chicago/Minneapolis offices
