About You:
You’re a personable tech person, someone who enjoys learning about new technologies and sharing your knowledge with others. You probably identify as an engineer, but you might have to think about it a little. You’d be comfortable reading a datasheet in the morning and attending a networking event in the afternoon. Additionally, you are:
- Adept at translating customer needs into technical requirements
- Comfortable working at conference centers, naval bases, offices, and piers
- Happy to spend 20-40% of your time on the road
- Experienced in pre-sales engineering, field applications, or technical sales
- Familiar with autonomous systems
- A strong verbal and written communicator
You may also have one or more of the following qualifications:
- Background working and/or playing on the ocean
- Engineering, oceanographic, or similarly technical work experience
- Familiar with CRM systems (we use Salesforce)
- Experience working with startups
Role Details:
In this role, you’ll be a key conduit between our in-house technology teams and new customers. Before deals get signed, you’ll ensure that the mission matches our capabilities, working directly with customers, engineers and our leadership team. You’ll deliver successful demonstrations, write or assist in writing proposals, and convey product feedback to the rest of the Seasats team.
This is a technical, customer-facing role for someone who loves field work and can speak both engineering and end-user.
Some specific tasks might include:
- Attending conferences, demonstrations, and other events
- Participating in and eventually leading presentations and on-water technology demonstrations
- Writing or assisting with proposal development
- Working with customers and our Proposal Manager to ensure proposals are scoped and priced appropriately
- Teaching customers and resellers product setup, operations, and maintenance
- Answering technical questions, remotely and in-person
Life at Seasats:
Along with your salary, you’ll receive perks including:
- Stock options
- Competitive insurance (including a 99% employer-covered Gold HMO plan or other options)
- 401k matching up to 4% of salary
- Four free lunches per week
- An employee activity fund
- A pet-friendly office
- Unlimited/Flex PTO
We’ll help you ramp up and will regularly take time to discuss what’s working and what’s not. We’re also big on personal freedoms: if you’re on top of your responsibilities and want the afternoon off to surf or spend time with friends and family, go for it! We have flexible hours, accommodating PTO, and a personable, high-achieving work culture. We want someone who’s excited to work hard and have fun in this environment.
Our values are listed below; we’re happy to explain them more during the interview process.
- Get Stuff Done
- Be Kind
- Fight Entropy
- Attack with Overwhelming Force
- Ask More Questions
- Lines, Not Dots
