About Us

Seedsight is dedicated to curating a comprehensive digital repository of seeds and grains signatures, meticulously validated through biomolecular and biophysical analyses provided by our platform in almost real-time. Our mission is to equip clients with the knowledge necessary to make well-informed decisions in raw material, commodities procurement and during food processing for optimizing production at the highest rate.

Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Embedded Systems & Integration Engineer to join our growing Hardware Team at Seedsight. With our first-generation prototype already designed and mechanically assembled, we are moving into a high-intensity phase of functional validation and firmware refinement. Working under the guidance of our Hardware Lead, you will be a key contributor to the technical "bring-up" of our optoelectronic systems. This is a role for an engineer who thrives on the bench, someone who enjoys the interplay between low-level code and physical circuitry, and who can systematically hunt down bugs in a complex, multi-disciplinary environment.

Our mission is to revolutionize agriculture and food commodities trading and processing, and we need your
expertise to make it happen. As a key member of our team, you'll play a crucial role in developing our cutting
edge technology, particularly in Research and development (R&D) focused on optical technologies tailored to
the specific to the specific needs of each of Seedsight’s clients.

As an Embedded Systems & Prototyping Engineer, your role will include the following responsibilities:

  • Prototype Bring-up: Collaborate with the Hardware Lead to initialize and validate the assembled V1 prototype, ensuring seamless integration and communication across all subsystems (power management, communication protocols, and sensors);

  • Firmware Development & Hardware Integration: Design, develop, and optimize firmware for microcontrollers and embedded components within custom PCB assemblies;

  • Signal Processing Pipelines: Architect and implement high-efficiency data acquisition and signal processing pipelines to translate raw data from optical fiber sensors into precise measurements;

  • System Validation & Debugging: Perform rigorous hardware-software integration testing, using debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.) to ensure seamless communication between firmware and electronic components;

  • Optoelectronic System Control: Develop software interfaces to automate and control advanced optical equipment (e.g., spectrometers, tunable lasers, and light sources);

  • R&D Innovation: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to prototype next-generation sensing solutions, bridging the gap between optical physics and functional embedded systems;

  • Technical Documentation: Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for firmware architectures, system calibration protocols, and technical specifications;

  • Data Analysis & Optimization: Analyze measurement outputs and system performance to refine algorithms and support continuous product innovation.

Requirements

What you will need:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics Engineering, or a closely related field;

  • 1-3 years of Experience: professional experience in embedded systems development and working with electronic measurement systems, specifically focusing on hardware-software integration and testing;

  • Domain Expertise: Proven experience in interfacing with sensors and controlling electronic hardware. Familiarity with optical technologies or optoelectronics is highly valued;

  • Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills focused on identifying and resolving bottlenecks in hardware-software interoperability;

  • Technical Skills:

    • Core Languages: Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems (Bare-metal or RTOS) and Python for data analysis and automation.

    • Hardware Interfacing: Hands-on experience with communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, USB) and peripheral integration (ADCs, DACs).

    • Instrumentation: Expert use of laboratory equipment such as Optical Spectrum Analyzers (OSA), spectrometers, and electronic debugging tools (Oscilloscopes).

    • Prototyping Tools: Familiarity with PCB design and testing environments; ability to read schematics and perform basic hardware troubleshooting.

    • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for digital signal processing/data acquisition and analysis is a plus.

  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and optimize complex systems.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary R&D environment and communicate technical findings clearly. A sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success.
