Drone Operator/Pilot

Autonomous drones are set to transform how we manage Critical National Infrastructure, delivering detailed asset inspections and monitoring at scale. At sees.ai, we're building the system that makes this future a reality, ensuring the safe and effective operation of highly advanced drones flown from a central control room, to unlock the full potential of drone technology.

The Role

As a Drone Operator/Pilot, you'll be at the forefront of revolutionary drone operations, conducting critical infrastructure inspections and monitoring missions that directly impact the safety and reliability of essential services across the UK.

You'll operate cutting-edge drone systems in challenging real-world environments, working closely with our technical teams to gather vital data and insights that drive our technology forward, while delivering exceptional results for our clients.

What You'll Do

We're a fast-growing startup, so you will have the real opportunity to shape this role, building on your skills and interests and applying them to advance our operations and technology.

These are some of the areas you could work in:

  • Mission Execution: Planning and conducting drone operations for critical infrastructure inspections, including power grid assessments, and facility surveys, and other asset inspections.

  • Equipment Management: Operating and maintaining professional drone systems, ensuring optimal performance and mission readiness across varied operational conditions.

  • Data Collection & Analysis: Capturing high-resolution inspection data, conducting preliminary analysis to validate data quality and identify major asset defects and contributing insights that inform both client deliverables and system improvements.

  • Field Operations: Working as part of field teams to operate drones in public spaces and on client sites, adapting to diverse operational environments and requirements while maintaining the highest safety standards.

  • Innovation Support: Collaborating with our engineering team to test new capabilities, provide real-world feedback, and help refine our autonomous systems based on operational experience.

  • Client Interaction: Supporting client demonstrations and missions, showcasing how drone technology can transform their operational capabilities.

Who You Are

This role will suit you if you're passionate about drone technology and thrive in hands-on, technically demanding environments where precision and adaptability are essential.

  • GVC qualified commercial drone pilot with proven experience in inspection or industrial applications (infrastructure inspection experience, particularly electricity grid work, highly valued).

  • Proficient with professional drone systems and quick to master new technologies and equipment configurations.

  • Naturally inquisitive with a track record of experimenting with diverse technical systems and staying current with industry developments.

  • Comfortable with frequent travel across the UK and internationally, adapting to varied operational environments and client requirements. Possibility of multi-week international assignments.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions in dynamic field conditions.

  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with technical teams, clients, and stakeholders.

  • Full UK driving licence and unrestricted right to work in the UK.

We value hands-on experience and technical curiosity over rigid qualifications. If you've operated drones professionally and are excited about pushing the boundaries of what's possible with autonomous systems, we want to hear from you.

Salary is negotiable based on experience.
