If you’re looking for a role where your work genuinely shapes how an ambitious technology company scales, this is a rare opportunity. You’ll have real ownership of how a rapidly growing international business runs day to day, working alongside senior leaders as sees.ai scales a revolutionary autonomous drone platform into real-world deployment.

This is a chance to be part of something that is moving from innovation into impact — and to play a central role in making this exciting scale-up work.

You’ll have the scope to run core business, people, and office operations day to day, with the autonomy to apply sound judgement in a regulated environment, and the opportunity to grow your ownership as the company grows.

About the role

The Business Operations Manager owns the day-to-day business, people, and office operations that ensure the smooth running of the business. Reporting to the VP Finance & Business Operations, the role exists to support the Executive Committee by ensuring the business continues to run smoothly, predictably, and professionally as it scales.

You’ll work closely with senior leadership, with real trust and visibility, taking responsibility for areas that currently sit across the leadership team and ensuring they are handled with care, consistency, and proper completion.

How the business works

The business is already operating effectively and delivering to customers, but our continued success depends on practical judgement, momentum, and continuous improvement as we scale operations.

sees.ai operates in a highly regulated aviation environment while maintaining the pace and ambition of a scaling startup. This role is about navigating that balance well — putting structure in place quickly where it adds value, improving it over time, and keeping the focus on delivery.

This role requires a highly organised individual who is comfortable acting with incomplete information, making informed decisions, and improving how things work as the business grows.

What you’ll be responsible for

You’ll be the operational backbone of the business, ensuring key activities are well run, visible, and continuously improving. This includes:

  • Taking end-to-end ownership of day-to-day business, people, and office operations so work is completed properly

  • Using systems, tools, and technology to track work, improve visibility, and strengthen key operational and people processes

  • Ensuring practical, compliant people processes are in place and working well, from onboarding and contracts through to policies, records, and absence management

  • Acting as a trusted first point of contact for everyday people and office matters, resolving issues pragmatically and keeping things moving

  • Coordinating actions across teams and leaders so priorities progress and nothing important is left unfinished

  • Introducing and refining simple, scalable ways of working that support growth without creating unnecessary bureaucracy

The people element

There is a strong people component to this role.

You don’t need to be a senior HR professional, but you do need:

  • A genuine interest in HR, employment legislation, and good people practice

  • Confidence handling everyday people matters fairly, discreetly, and pragmatically

  • The ability to balance care for employees with clear expectations and high performance standards

Growth opportunity

As the company scales, the scope and impact of this role can grow significantly.

That growth could lead toward people / HR leadership or broader operational leadership, depending on business needs and where you make the greatest contribution. Progress comes from trust, judgement, and delivery — not titles.

As well as a generous equity package, our employees enjoy the following benefits: -

  • Regular socials

  • Well-stocked snacks and drinks fridge / good coffee machine

  • Beautiful office in converted Victorian school

  • Cafe on site

  • Nursery on site

  • Table tennis, gym, pool, tennis courts on site

  • Free parking

What success looks like

After 12 months in the role:

  • The business feels organised, supported, and easier to run as it scales

  • Leaders spend far less time on operational and people administration

  • People processes are clear, fair, compliant, and proportionate

  • Systems and ways of working support growth rather than slow it down

  • Your work has had a visible impact on how the company operates

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK - This role is full time on-site
