Sigma360 is hiring a Technical Solutions Engineer to be the technical bridge between our enterprise clients and our product and engineering teams. You'll work directly with client engineering teams to gather integration requirements, design solution architectures against our APIs, and guide complex implementations involving AML, KYC, and payment flows from first whiteboard through production go-live.

This role is heavy on client conversations, architecture work, integration documentation, and ticket writing — lighter on shipping production code. It's built for an engineer with strong systems thinking and clear, confident communication, who works across engineering, product, customer success, and sales to make every client engagement faster and cleaner than the last.

About Sigma360

Sigma360 is an MIT-incubated, venture-backed, Series B data and analytics company helping financial institutions, fintechs, and governments manage entity risk. We power name screening, sanctions compliance, adverse media monitoring, KYC investigations, and risk research for some of the world's most demanding compliance teams. We value curiosity, clarity of thought, and pragmatic execution.

Why This Role Matters

Our enterprise integrations touch mission-critical systems — AML platforms, payment rails, KYC stacks, mainframes, Salesforce, custom Java services. The architecture decisions made during integration determine whether a client reaches value in weeks or in quarters, and whether their engineering team trusts us as a partner or treats us as a vendor.

You are that decision-maker on the Sigma side. The architecture you whiteboard, the friction you convert into well-scoped tickets, and the documentation you produce all compound across every client who comes after. If you have backend engineering instincts, code competently, and have come to realize you do your most impactful work in conversation and in writing rather than alone in a backend codebase — this role is built for you.

What You'll Do

  • Own the client technical relationship end-to-end — requirements gathering, integration architecture, and implementation through production go-live across high-touch engagements involving anti-money laundering systems, payment systems, and various financial integrations
  • Whiteboard integrations with client engineering teams: data flows, failure modes, idempotency, contract versioning, observability — and defend your decisions in the room
  • Translate client needs and integration friction into well-scoped tickets and clear input for the product and engineering roadmap
  • Investigate with SQL and scripts — read logs, audit client data, debug integrations, occasionally migrate data into new structures, automate recurring work
  • Own the integration knowledge base — API references, integration guides, architecture templates, sample code

Tech Stack

  • REST APIs (OpenAPI-described)
  • SQL on production relational databases
  • scripting in Python, JavaScript, or Bash
  • Go backend
  • AWS

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Systems design expertise. You could ace a systems design interview. You think in data flows, failure modes, resiliency, idempotency, and API contracts. You can architect on a whiteboard and defend your decisions.
  • Expert SQL. Production-scale relational database experience. You debug from logs, audit client data, and migrate structures fluently. Strong Excel/Sheets fluency expected.
  • Strong scripting. Proficient in at least one language. You can prototype integrations, write sample code, and automate cleanup or troubleshooting work.
  • REST API fluency. Deep experience designing integrations against RESTful APIs and explaining their contracts to client engineering teams.
  • Client-facing technical presence. You lead technical conversations with enterprise engineers — managing ambiguity, explaining tradeoffs, and building trust over long engagement cycles.
  • 5+ years combining backend or software engineering with client-facing technical work — solutions engineering, technical solutions, implementation engineering, forward deployed engineering, or similar. Track record managing enterprise relationships through complex, long-cycle engagements.
  • US-based; professional fluency in written and spoken English required for enterprise client engagement.

Nice to Have

  • AWS or other major cloud platform experience
  • Go
  • Exposure to financial services, payments infrastructure, financial crime compliance, or regulatory technology

What We Offer

  • Series B equity participation with real upside
  • Fully remote, anywhere in the US
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and commuter benefits
  • Generous time-off and flexible work arrangements
  • A collaborative, low-ego culture solving hard problems — and the opportunity to grow with a fast-scaling, product-led company

How to Apply

Apply with your résumé and a short note on the most complex enterprise integration you've owned — what made the architecture hard, and what you'd do differently today.
