JOB Description:Sr. Managers for various and unanticipated worksites throughout the US (HQ: Chicago, IL). Manage software information technology team, including in DevOps environment, release engineering and software engineering. Lead, motivate and enable team members to reach career success and goals. Operate, design, deploy and maintain business-critical highly scalable distributed software systems and applications, production monitoring, address failures, manage upgrades, patching schedules, downtime, implement corrections. Lead project management including Agile management frameworks in fast-paced dynamic environment. Lead team to use procedures, scripts, database queries to resolve application issues in a variety of open system infrastructures and for highly scalable distributed software systems. Create roadmaps. Oversee systems automation, virtualization, orchestration, deployment, and implementation. Lead team in performance tuning, debugging, platform integrations. Define and execute on vision, strategy and roadmaps for SRE and DevOps teams. Play a strategic role in building state-of-the-art application/infrastructure systems with the high emphasis on security and scalability. Maximize system availability and assist users with application questions and issues. Drive and own the measuring of SLA/uptime and ensure organization is meeting goals. Ensure timely releases of the team's projects to production and remove any impediments as they arise. Job Requirements:
*Masters degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Computer Applications, or related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or in software development and junior developer & team mentorship or as a Consultant/Advisor required. Required Skills: Must have experience managing IT team, including for DevOps; designing, deploying and maintaining highly available, scalable distributed software systems & applications on-premise and/or in cloud using Docker, Kubernetes/containers on Unix and Linux environments, DevOps environment, production monitoring, addressing failures, managing upgrades, patching schedules, downtime, & implement corrections; Project management using agile; creating roadmaps; systems automation, virtualization, orchestration, deployment, and implementation using Jenkins, Chef, Ansible, Puppet, Salt; project architecture, meta-programming, vectors, parallelism, performance tuning, debugging, SMP/MPP architectures, platform integrations; writing SQL queries for data analysis; Ab Initio, PL/SQL, Unix/Linux, XML, Web Services, Oracle, Toad, Squirrel, Git, Splunk, AWS. Telecommuting permitted.
