What You'll Bring:
Troubleshooting ESX issues related to storage, network and performance issues
Monitor and tune systems to achieve optimum performance levels
Create and maintain Linux/Windows server images
Optimizing network hardware and software to enable VMware integration.
Designing and implementing virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and enabling template management.
Troubleshooting and resolving VMware environment issues.
Administrative and troubleshooting Level-2 knowledge of Intel based micro processing
Proactively maintain and develop all Vmware infrastructure technology to maintain a 24x7x365 uptime service
Assessing the stability, security, and scalability of installed Windows systems.
Troubleshooting system and server errors.
Reviewing system error logs and user-reported errors.
Proactively user access, monitoring system performance and capacity planning
Maintaining server architecture security and creating system backups
Maintain best practices on managing systems and services across all environments
Engineering of systems administration-related solutions for various project and operational needs
Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on servers, workstations, and network hardware
Create and modify scripts or applications to perform tasks
Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment
Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes
Impact You'll Make:
VMWare Certified Professional (VCP) preferred.
Previous working experience as a Linux Administrator for Min 6 years
Extensive knowledge of the fundamentals of VMware ESX and related technologies.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar relevant degree
Detailed knowledge of Windows server setup, deployment, and maintenance.
Familiarity with VMWare and SAN management and concepts
Expert in Automation, Shell, Perl, and/or Python scripting
Solid knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP and SNMP
Strong problem solving and communication skills
Experience with databases, patch management, and networks including LAN and WAN.
Familiarity with modern operating systems and server platforms.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Good analytical and communication skills.
Availability to resolve urgent VMware environment problems outside of business hours.
