What We'll Bring:

We’re looking for a Big Data Administrator to join our growing Big Data Administration team. You will be based both from our offices in Leeds and working remotely as part of our ‘flex together’ approach. In this fast-paced role you’ll work with Data Engineering and Data Science teams to establish, maintain and support our Big Data Clusters. This exciting role will offer a host of development opportunities as part of a growing global business.

What You'll Bring:

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for Design, Implementation and On-going Support of Big Data Platforms
• Administration and periodic maintenance of multiple big data clusters
• Troubleshooting user issues and root cause analysis
• Ensure Performance and SLA requirements of the Hadoop clusters
• Design metrics and monitor real-time performance of clusters, capacity planning, performance tuning
• Develop and maintain operational best practices for efficient operation of Hadoop clusters

Impact You'll Make:

• 3-8 years of Experience in setting up and configuring a Hadoop Cluster
• 3-8 years of Experience in supporting and managing Hadoop cluster issues
• Experience in setting up HA for HDFS, RM, YARN, Zookeeper
• Experience in scheduling queues
• Experience in Cluster performance tuning
• Experience in Hive and spark query tuning
• Experience in application troubleshooting and root cause analysis
• Analyzes designs, creates and implements Big Data infrastructures, including access methods, device allocations, validation checks, organization and security.
• Extremely strong Unix/Linux skills
• Good communication skills
• Good to have:
  • Automation experience using scripting languages (Shell, Ansible, Python etc.)
