Job DescriptionSpecialists for various and unanticipated worksites throughout the U.S. (HQ: Chicago, IL). Conduct user research to support product innovation, iteration, and optimization of direct-to-consumer and enterprise software products. Work directly with Product Managers, UX Designers, Product Designers, and Softer Developers to understand user interaction with current computer systems and software products. Conduct expert and user testing to evaluate the innovation, iteration, and optimization of new product features. Compile and present findings to relevant stakeholders for use in designing and implementing software product improvements, developments, and feature additions. Technical Environment: conducting quantitative and qualitative research using a range of tools including interviews, ethnography, contextual inquiry, card sorting, tree testing, surveys, heuristic evaluation, user personas, journey maps, service blueprints and benchmark studies; developing research protocols; recruiting qualified research participants; synthesizing qualitative and quantitative data, behavioral and attitudinal data using a range of tools including qualitative coding, Google Analytics, Excel, SQL, Python, and Tableau; creating visual displays of qualitative and quantitative information; prototyping website wireframes for communication with stakeholders, idea iterations, and usability testing.
Job Requirements
*Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Studies or a related field plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or with user experience research and design required. Required/ Specific Skills: conducting quantitative and qualitative research using a range of tools including interviews, ethnography, contextual inquiry, card sorting, tree testing, surveys, heuristic evaluation, user personas, journey maps, service blueprints and benchmark studies; developing research protocols; recruiting qualified research participants; synthesizing qualitative and quantitative data, behavioral and attitudinal data using a range of tools including qualitative coding, Google Analytics, Excel, SQL, Python, and Tableau; creating visual displays of qualitative and quantitative information; prototyping website wireframes for communication with stakeholders, idea iterations, and usability testing. Telecommuting permitted. (*Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Studies or a related field plus 5 years of progressive experience in the job offered or with user experience research and design also acceptable.)
