About the role of Account Director:

We’re looking for an Account Director to join our highly talented and growing Payments & Cards account development team here at TransUnion.

In this fast-paced role you’ll work alongside line of business specialist and consultancy team to sell solutions and services as well as planning, facilitating complex negotiations, typically over a long sales cycle to reach long-term agreements and commitments.


Day to Day you will:

  • Deliver solutions to Fin-tech, Cards & Payments clients by identifying solutions to clients new and emerging requirements.

  • Maintain strong client relationships with existing customers understanding their needs and cross/up sell the right solutions.

  • Honed prospecting and consultative selling skills to achieve annual revenue targets.

  • Strong collaborator who builds internal partner networks including an understanding of TU's purchasing criteria.

  • Personally lead, manage, and run the sales process, bringing in additional resource as required.

  • Develop a strong personal network of contacts to continually be aware of the market, both clients and competitors, and provide valuable information back into the business.

  • Manages some high-profile accounts spanning broad geographic areas, representing significant revenue, and having diverse and complex needs.

  • Subject matter expert in an aspect of Government, products/services, the market, and the needs of assigned accounts.

  • Regularly reporting activity into the Head of Government and participate in regular team calls.

  • Negotiates and manages the contracting process between TransUnion & client organisations.

  • Identifies, builds, and develops relationships with key stakeholders to maximise revenue opportunities.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Extensive experience of working in a client facing, strategic sales role or selling complex solutions to clients in a full cycle environment.

  • Experience and expert skills in managing the full sales process.

  • Drive and enthusiasm are needed as you’ll be responsible for your own account book.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels.

  • Strong stakeholder management internally and externally.

  • Proven ability in creating and delivering effective executive level presentations.

  • Understanding of the importance of working in a regulated environment.

  • Full UK driving licence as some occasional travel will be expected.

Working Pattern

This role is deemed ‘remote’ which means you won't be based at one of our offices as your role will involve regular business travel/field based, so you can be based further afield from our office locations but may still need to attend the office from time to time as required.
