About the role:
Skyfront is looking for an engineer to join the Skyfront team to design and program the avionics, collision avoidance, and sensor systems for the next generation of Skyfront’s extreme endurance drones. This is a challenging, hands-on, leadership role.
Responsibilities:
- Create new versions of autopilot and engine control unit designs
- Create and integrate devices to detect and avoid obstacles
- Define the architecture and select components for a complex embedded electromechanical system
- Integrate sophisticated cameras and sensors
- Incorporate DFM and other manufacturing considerations
- Responsible for solving complex product failures for improved product reliability and performance
- Managing production runs of PCBs
Required skills:
- Experience with Altium or equivalent PCB CAD package
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Troubleshooting electronic circuitry
- Embedded C++
Preferred skills:
- Experience with Ardupilot or PX4 flight controller software
- Troubleshooting EMI/RF problems
