Creative Technologist

This is a rare opportunity to work on installations that fuse engineering, design, and storytelling. From immersive pre-sales simulations to hands-on, sensor-driven exhibits. It’s not a role for box-tickers. It’s for someone who lives to experiment, tinker, and bring ideas to life. Animating 3D content in Unreal Engine one day, prototyping an interactive device with sensors and lights the next. If you thrive at the intersection of technology and design, we want to hear from you.
🛠️ What You’ll Actually Do
- Prototype and build interactive installations using tools like Unreal Engine (Blueprints and/or C++).
- Bring 3D environments to life, from early-stage modeling (e.g. Blender) to technical design (e.g. Fusion360).
- Create visual simulations and renders for pre-sales — then turn them into functional software controllers for real-world installations.
- Develop simple user interfaces (in HTML/CSS/JavaScript) for monitoring, control, and internal tools.
- Integrate software with hardware — sensors, actuators, microcontrollers (Arduino, Raspberry Pi), cameras.
- Test, refine, and install your creations on-site, collaborating with engineers, designers, and fabricators.
- Stay curious: research and explore new technologies and materials to push creative boundaries.
Experience
Core Skills (what we really need)
- Solid experience with Unreal Engine or similar real-time 3D/game engines (Unity, Godot).
- A working knowledge of 3D modeling, including Blender or Fusion360.
- A background in creative coding — solving visual and interaction challenges with algorithmic thinking.
- Hands-on mindset: you love building things, not just designing or managing them.
- Comfort working across disciplines — especially at the edge of physical and digital.
Nice-to-Have (but we’ll help you grow)
- Experience in Python or C++ (especially for sensors, CV, or data handling).
- Web development for internal tools or control panels.
- Familiarity with sensors, microcontrollers, and physical computing.
- Adobe Creative Suite (for 2D schematics, slides, visual documentation).
- Parametric modeling (e.g. Grasshopper) or procedural design experience.
You’ll Love This Role If You
- Think like a designer and an engineer.
- Are curious, hands-on, and excited by ambiguity.
- Can’t resist building a working prototype, even if it’s messy.
- Love learning new tools and making things work in the real world.
- Want to be part of a small, cross-functional team doing meaningful, creative work.
