Digital Manufacturing Lead

Leva is looking for a Digital Fabrication Lead to take ownership of their internal fabrication unit, driving the production of custom parts and prototypes for cutting-edge projects. This person will lead a small, capable team and play a key role in optimizing and scaling Leva's fabrication capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Fabrication Unit, currently comprising one Fabrication Technologist and one Technician.
- Schedule and manage internal production workflows across 3D printing, CNC machining, and assembly.
- Prepare and optimize CAD-CAM files for production, ensuring models are fabrication-ready.
- Operate, maintain, and optimize 3D printing systems, CNC machines, and other digital fabrication tools.
- Manage production resources — including machines, consumables, and materials — to ensure full operational capability.
- Coordinate with external suppliers for materials and specialized manufacturing, ensuring high quality and adherence to timelines.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to improve manufacturability, optimize production processes, and reduce time and costs.
Must-Have Experience
- A hands-on approach with a strong technical foundation
- 3+ years of experience in digital fabrication, prototyping, or manufacturing
- Passion for prototyping and making, with strong attention to detail and accuracy
Key Skills
- Deep knowledge of digital fabrication, CNC machining, and rapid prototyping
- Proficiency in 3D modeling tools (Fusion 360 is a plus) and design optimization for fabrication
- Familiarity with 3D printing workflows and CNC operations
- Strong organizational, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities to coordinate across teams and suppliers
- Comfort working in a multidisciplinary environment alongside hardware engineers, designers, and project managers
