Role Snapshot
You’ll help Aerostacks improve and stabilize its radar-based snow sensing system. The product is a sensor mounted on a snow groomer, designed to analyze snow layers, ice, density, and moisture while the vehicle is moving, using Ground Penetrating Radar.
This role is for a hands-on Senior RF / Radar Engineer who has experience debugging real RF hardware — not only running simulations. You’ll help diagnose practical RF issues, improve signal quality, optimize antenna and probe geometry, and guide the next iteration of the radar system toward reliable performance in real snow conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and reduce crosstalk between transmitter and receiver
- Identify and mitigate reflections, resonances, noise, and unwanted coupling
- Improve the quality, stability, and clarity of the radar signal
- Evaluate and optimize antenna placement, probe geometry, and RF system layout
- Recommend practical solutions for shielding, RF absorbers, grounding, and isolation
- Design and document test procedures for validating radar performance
- Support the transition from prototype to a more stable, field-ready radar system
- Collaborate with mechanical and hardware contributors on enclosure, mounting, and integration constraints
- Recommend specific improvements for the next hardware iteration
