SparkCharge is currently seeking a Director of Sales & Strategic Partnerships. The position is fully in-office.

As the Director of Sales and Strategic Partnerships, you will play a crucial role in the strategic direction and growth of our company’s Mobile Charging-as-a-Service (MCaaS). This position is perfect for a dynamic, results-driven individual who thrives in the fast-paced environment of a startup and has a deep passion for the EV industry. You will be responsible for developing our sales strategy, forging key partnerships, and leading our efforts to establish a strong market presence.

The Company

SparkCharge is a fast-growing cleantech start-up that is reducing barriers to Electric Vehicle (EV) adoption. We design, manufacture, and sell portable, Level 3 charging systems for EVs. We also provide “Mobile Charging-as-a-Service” (MCaaS) through our SparkCharge Mobile network, which allows EV owners and businesses to schedule an EV charge delivery to wherever their vehicle is located. Responsibilities

  • Strategic Sales Leadership: Craft and execute strategic sales plans to meet or exceed company revenue targets while expanding our market presence. Deftly manage a pipeline, hit quota, and provide timely and accurate forecastings.
  • EV Industry Partnerships: Establish, manage, and deepen relationships with key stakeholders, including EV manufacturers, charging station operators, government entities, and energy providers. to enhance product offerings and market penetration.
  • Sales Execution: Lead the sales process from prospecting to closing, including negotiation of contracts, with a focus on achieving long-term success and customer satisfaction.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance, product development, marketing, mobile operations and customer success teams to ensure alignment with company goals and optimize product offerings.
  • Market Expansion: Drive our expansion into new markets, leveraging your understanding of the EV sector to identify untapped opportunities.
  • Team Building: Build and mentor a sales team from the ground up, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Customer and Market Insight: Maintain a deep understanding of the market, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform our product and sales strategies.
  • Adapt and Innovate: Quickly adapt to market changes and feedback, helping our startup remain agile and responsive to customer and industry needs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of related experience in B2B sales or business development
  • Go to Market Experience selling into EV Fleets, OEMs, Rental Car Agencies, Ride Sharing Companies and others
  • Strong understanding of the EV market, charging infrastructure, and renewable energy trends.
  • Proven track record in a leadership role within a startup environment, demonstrating the ability to scale sales efforts and navigate the challenges of a small, growing team.
  • Strong experience in forming strategic partnerships and a robust network within the EV, renewable energy, or tech industries.
  • In-depth knowledge of the electric vehicle market, including customer trends, technological advancements, and regulatory impacts.
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, alongside the leadership qualities necessary to build and inspire a team.
  • Willingness to take on multiple roles within a small team and contribute to areas beyond direct responsibilities.
  • A team player able to project manage/train new sales reps
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet business objectives.
