About The Role
- SparkCharge is currently seeking a Procurement Specialist. The position is fully in-office. The Procurement Specialist will manage day-to-day purchasing and supplier coordination to ensure SparkCharge has the materials, equipment, and services needed to scale charging deployments and field operations. This role supports sourcing, vendor management, cost control, purchase orders, lead-time planning, and supply continuity across charging hardware, electrical and mechanical components, mobile assets, field-service consumables, and logistics services.Describe the role and team the candidate will be joining
- Source components, equipment, and services that support SparkCharge’s mobile battery charging, off-grid power hubs, Roadie Portable, permanent infrastructure, and related field operations.
- Run RFQs and RFPs, compare supplier quotes, negotiate pricing and terms, and onboard new vendors.
- Create and manage purchase orders, vendor records, pricing files, and procurement documentation in ERP or MRP systems.
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, Field Service, Finance, and manufacturing partners to align purchasing with forecasts, deployment schedules, product launches, and engineering changes.
- Track supplier lead times, quality, on-time delivery, and capacity; resolve shortages and escalate risks early.
- Build alternate-source and contingency plans for critical parts and services.
- Support inventory planning, spend analysis, invoice resolution, and procurement KPI reporting.
- Ensure suppliers meet quality, safety, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
- Candidates must have:
- 3-5+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, purchasing, or supply chain.
- Experience in hardware, manufacturing, automotive, energy, EV, industrial equipment, or similarly operational environments.
- Strong knowledge of RFQ processes, supplier negotiations, total-cost analysis, and purchase order management.
- Experience with ERP or MRP systems and strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
- Ability to work with BOMs, part numbers, technical specifications, and revision-controlled documentation.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and cross-functional communication skills
- Experience with EV charging, batteries, power electronics, or electrical systems.
- Experience supporting field operations, distributed deployments, or contract manufacturing.
- Familiarity with freight, warehousing, 3PL coordination, or supplier quality management.
- CPSM, CPIM, CPPB, or similar certification.
