Key Responsibilities as a DS
As a Data Scientist at Spatialedge, you will contribute to or lead (depending on your experience) the full lifecycle from problem framing to productionised solutions.
Data Management: Manage both structured and unstructured data. Collaborate with data engineers to define storage formats and specify data collection requirements.
Business Alignment: Translate business needs into technical solutions. Label requirements and present complex technical approaches to non-technical stakeholders.
Experimental Design: Set up reproducible experiments, including the selection, training, validation, and optimization of machine learning models. Evaluate model quality using business-centric metrics.
Pipeline Integration: Integrate data preprocessing and model inference into general data processing pipelines.
Strategic Problem Solving: Work closely with business units to identify challenges and propose data-driven solutions for effective decision-making.
Advanced Analytics: Apply machine learning tools and statistical techniques to solve complex organizational problems.
Communication: Maintain clear and coherent verbal and written communication to understand data needs and present results effectively.
Continuous Learning: Stay current with the latest technologies, papers, and methodologies in the machine learning field.
Innovation: Conduct research to develop prototypes and proofs of concept, identifying opportunities to scale insights.
Preferred Qualifications
Honours degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience in Machine Learning and Data Science.
Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ML Certification or equivalent is advantageous.
Experience with GCP-native ML tools such as Vertex AI is advantageous.
Exposure to ML frameworks.
