Data Engineer (Junior)

As a data engineer at Spatialedge you will develop data pipelines, use and contribute to open source tools that manage data flow, and help to develop and improve the systems underlying machine learning and advanced analytics workloads. You will be working as part of an agile team solving problems for big enterprise clients on a daily basis.

Basic Qualifications

• Computer Science/Engineering/Mathematical degree or any suitable technical qualification.

• Programming experience.

• Experience with working with at least one database.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in an agile environment

• Proficient in SQL, Python, Java and JavaScript

• Comfortable working in Linux

• Demonstrates tenacity to find the root cause of any problem

• Stays focused on the end goal, even under shifting priorities

• Produces high-quality output

• Has worked with at least one well known development methodology

Stretch Goal Qualifications

• Has experience building enterprise systems (logging, distributed systems debugging, defensive programming)

• Has experience working with any of the major cloud providers (GCP, AWS, Azure, etc)

• Has experience working with big data

• Has experience with streaming and distributed computing systems

• Has experience in alternative languages
