Satellite manufacturers use customized systems limiting spacecraft design options, making
it long, expensive and complex. This is compromising scale production because up to 80%
of the costs go to contractors to supply customised systems where the actual cost of it is
only 20%.
SPiN is working on the Multipurpose Adapter Generic Interface Connector (MA61C) is the
first universal satellite adapter with plug-and-play that allows connecting any satellite
subsystem with the main onboard computer without installing any additional software or
adapting hardware connectors. It reduces costs and time of satellite manufacturing. Once
the adapter is connected, it will power up and integrate the subsystem with the onboard
computer.
