We're building the marketplace infrastructure to transform CPG surplus into opportunity for retailers to meet consumer demand at scale, and we’re seeking a Buyer Operations Specialist to join our team.
The Opportunity
In this hands-on, highly collaborative role, you will serve as an internal expert on opportunistic purchasing and the secondary market for consumer goods, partnering closely with suppliers, buyers, and internal teams to drive meaningful commerce and program success.
As a Buyer Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining a robust and diversified buyer network and increasing transaction volume via supplier-specific strategies and deal-level outreach and execution that matches the right products to the right buyers at the right price. You will work directly with suppliers to build curated buyer networks, providing consultative support to drive high liquidity across individual programs. In parallel, you will strengthen engagement across the broader Spoiler Alert buyer network and operationally manage a portfolio of key buyer relationships to ensure consistent, measurable outcomes.
You will sit within the Customer organization and report to the VP of Customer Operations, working closely with the Customer Operations and Buyer Business Development teams, as well as cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Marketing, and Data. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment, is comfortable navigating ambiguity, and is energized by both strategic problem-solving and rolling up their sleeves to make deals happen—including picking up the phone to move product when needed.
Responsibilities
Buyer Network Management
- Serve as the operational point of contact for wholesale buyers, and drive strong engagement including effective onboarding, activation, and overall satisfaction
- Support buyer-facing education, training, communications to reinforce Spoiler Alert’s value proposition and drive engagement and satisfaction
- Independently engage buyers - via calls, outreach, and follow-ups - to accelerate deal flow and resolve friction
- Support the vetting and onboarding of new buyers into the network, including the identification of new buyers for specific suppliers in coordination with the Buyer Business Development team
Supplier-Driven Buyer Programs
- Own buyer network health for a portfolio of 30-50 supplier accounts, in collaboration with the Customer Operations team
- Drive improved buyer engagement, liquidity, and outcomes within portfolio supplier programs, serving as a day-to-day execution partner
- Actively match products to buyers, providing deal-level hustle to move inventory and unlock transaction volume
- Provide consultative guidance to suppliers on building, optimizing, and scaling their buyer programs based on product mix, market dynamics, and buyer demand
- Inform suppliers on the latest buyer purchasing trends and capabilities
Cross-Functional Buyer Systems
- Manage and report on buyer aggregate KPIs, performance trends, and engagement metrics
- Act as the voice of the buyer internally, collaborating closely with teams to provide key insights, flag product enhancement opportunities, and represent customer interest
- Contribute to team scalability through documentation, playbooks, and process optimization
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience as a Buyer or Seller in the consumer goods Secondary Market, ideally with experience in the wholesale space
- Experience managing multiple projects workflows and maintaining outcome-driven, high-value customer partnerships
- Experience working with data sets to extract insights, drive decisions, and report on performance
- Experience in startup or scale-up SaaS environments preferred

- The salary range for this role is $98,000-105,000, determined by level of experience and expertise - not a negotiation range.
