Role Description

As Co-Founder and VP of Finance at SQOR.ai, you’ll be stepping into a pivotal role to shape the future of a high-impact AI company. You’ll drive our capital-raising efforts, leveraging your experience and connections with angels, HNW individuals, and VCs to fuel SQOR.ai’s next stages of growth. This is a unique chance to work alongside the CEO in New York City (with flexible remote options), navigating the startup capital journey with end-to-end ownership, and a direct path to equity in a transformative company.

Note: This is not an advisor role or a part-time gig. We’re looking for someone ready to roll up their sleeves and fully engage, taking command of all finance initiatives, from building a robust capital-raising process and presentations to executing financial planning, analysis, and strategic modeling that will directly influence SQOR.ai’s scalability and success.

In addition to capital strategy, you’ll oversee our financial ecosystem: budgeting, pricing, investor relations, and financial forecasting and special projects on behalf of the CEO. Your background in venture capital, hands-on M&A experience, FP&A, and understanding of public markets will be instrumental as we continue building out SQOR.ai’s competitive edge.

This role is equity-only for the time being (approximately 1%) and represents a rare ground-floor opportunity with immense potential. If you’re ready to drive finance and financing strategies at a company that’s reimagining an entire industry, we want you on our team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Capital Raising and Investor Relations:

• Spearhead capital-raising efforts, driving impactful presentations that engage and inspire potential investors.

• Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with VCs, angels, HNW individuals, and other stakeholders, strategically positioning SQOR.ai for growth.

• Identify high-potential investors aligned with SQOR.ai’s mission, leading targeted outreach to build a powerhouse network.

• Own the full capital-raising process—managing due diligence, coordination, negotiations, and deal documents to completion.

Financial Strategy and Planning:

• Architect financial strategies that propel SQOR.ai’s ambitious growth, integrating budgeting, forecasting, pricing, and modeling to empower strategic decisions.

• Deliver in-depth financial analysis and provide actionable insights to the executive team to drive profitable growth.

M&A and Deal Processing:

• Lead M&A initiatives, assessing targets that align with strategic goals, and overseeing all phases from initial analysis to closing.

• Drive thorough due diligence and collaborate with legal and other stakeholders to ensure seamless deal execution.

• Oversee all aspects of deal documentation, making sure each detail aligns with SQOR.ai’s vision and standards.

Operational and Strategic Support:

• Partner closely with the CEO to execute key initiatives, offering insights that shape operational and strategic direction.

• Provide data-driven support for high-impact decision-making, optimizing business performance at each stage.

• Bring a deep understanding of SaaS business models and KPI structures to elevate SQOR.ai’s operational excellence.

Leadership and Collaboration:

• Serve as a key advisor to the CEO and executive team, bringing strategic and financial expertise to every conversation.

• Foster collaboration across teams, ensuring alignment on objectives and flawless execution.

• Be primed to evolve into a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) or Chief Operating Officer (COO) role as SQOR.ai scales.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Recent, hands-on experience with early-stage capital raising, ideally with proven success in both sell-side and buy-side roles.

• Strong foundation in corporate finance, investment banking, or comparable roles, with a track record of closing capital raises and M&A deals.

• Demonstrated expertise in due diligence, legal coordination, and deal documentation.

• Strategic thinker with exceptional problem-solving skills and a passion for AI, business intelligence, and innovation in SaaS.

• A natural relationship builder with a strong network and a keen sense for engaging investors.

• Thrives in a fast-paced, competitive environment, with prior C-level startup experience highly valued.

• Extensive M&A deal processing experience, with an added edge in public markets and LP engagement.
