Role Summary

We are hiring a Head of Revenue (Player/Coach) to lead from the front: finding deals, closing deals, and coaching a lean team of hunters. This role is for someone who earns respect by doing the work, hitting targets, and raising the bar. The path to CRO is on the table, but it is earned with performance and ownership of results.

If you are a hunter-closer who thrives in live conversations, knows how to create urgency, and can build and scale a team while still selling yourself, this is your opportunity. You will be selling a category-defining Decision Intelligence platform that is reshaping how companies make decisions, and coaching others to replicate your success.

This is not a passive, email-only role. Whether through direct outreach, warm intros, events, or channel partnerships, you know how to open doors, build momentum, and land the deal.

Ideal Candidate

* You have built and led startup sales teams while personally carrying and closing quota

* Track record of selling SaaS, analytics, BI, or AI tools and ideally of replacing legacy BI systems like Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, FiveTran, or ThoughtSpot

* Experienced selling into mid-market companies, venture-backed startups (Series B–D), and private equity firms who need real-time portfolio visibility

* Deep startup sales experience with references to prove it

* Able to engage C-level buyers and investor stakeholders (mid-market, enterpricse, VC and PE)

* Hands-on with structured sales methodologies such as MEDDPICC, Challenger, or SPICED and able to coach a team in their use

* Energized by hunting, closing, and building. This is a hands-on startup sales leadership role, not a passive manager-only position

Compensation

This role includes a meaningful ownership stake and high-impact cash incentives. You will receive approximately 2 percent equity in SQOR.ai and earn very high commissions on all revenue you personally close until base salaries become available early Q1 2026, plus a small percentage override on your team’s closed/won deals.

The compensation plan is designed for closers and builders, those who put numbers on the board. It will transition to include a competitive base salary and commissions aligned with market standards as we scale.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and coach a growing team of hunters while directly generating revenue through your own pipeline

* Personally close high-value deals with C-level decision-makers across finance, operations, IT, and data

* Build and refine the sales strategy, including ICP targeting, pitch evolution, and performance metrics

* Apply structured sales methodologies (MEDDPICC, Challenger, SPICED) to ensure rigorous qualification, discovery, and closing discipline across the team

* Identify and develop channel, VC, and referral partnerships that expand lead flow and shorten cycles

* Act as the bridge between the market and SQOR.ai by bringing real-time feedback to product and marketing to sharpen GTM execution

* Maintain strong client relationships through consultative, high-impact engagement that drives expansion and retention

Qualifications

* 5 to 10+ years of B2B SaaS sales success, with at least 2 years leading startup sales teams

* Proven ability to build and scale a revenue engine while carrying and closing your own quota

* Track record of closing complex deals with C-level executives and investor stakeholders (VC and PE)

* Hands-on knowledge and application of structured sales methodologies such as MEDDPICC, Challenger, or SPICED, with the ability to coach others

* Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills, with a founder’s mindset and comfort operating in a high-urgency startup environment

* Based in NYC or another major tech hub with a strong personal network preferred, though remote is possible for top performers
