Position Overview

We're seeking an experienced Healthcare Integration Engineer to work part-time on our mission-critical healthcare integration projects. This role is perfect for seasoned healthcare technology professionals who want to contribute their expertise while maintaining flexibility and work-life balance.

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement integrations with healthcare systems (EHR, EMR, Practice Management)
  • Develop and maintain HL7, FHIR, and other healthcare data standard implementations
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and data security across all integrations
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to understand their workflow requirements
  • Build and maintain API gateways and data transformation layers
  • Provide technical support during scheduled hours
  • Mentor junior team members on healthcare integration best practices

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare technology and integrations
  • Deep understanding of healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, DICOM)
  • Experience with EHR/EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, AllScripts, etc.)
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and other healthcare regulations
  • Proficiency in integration technologies and APIs
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare industry certifications (RHIA, CHPS, or similar)
  • Experience with cloud healthcare platforms (AWS HealthLake, Azure Healthcare APIs)
  • Knowledge of clinical workflows and terminology
  • Experience with data mapping and transformation tools
  • Previous part-time or consulting experience in healthcare

Schedule & Commitment

  • Hours: 25-30 hours per week
  • Core Hours: Some overlap with team for collaboration and meetings
  • Flexibility: Choose your schedule within business hour constraints
  • Remote Work: Fully remote with occasional virtual client meetings
  • On-call: Minimal on-call requirements for critical integrations
