About the Role
We are building a serverless edge compute platform — Lambda-style, but on Telnyx global edge network with VM-level isolation. You will help scale from 1 cluster to 8+, unblock the team on networking and security, and build the foundation for AI-first compute.
What You Will Do
- Deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters (RKE2/Rancher) across multiple cloud providers
- Build and maintain WireGuard VPN tunnels connecting Telnyx to isolated edge clusters
- Own Ansible automation for cluster provisioning and configuration
- Manage infrastructure-as-code with Terraform/OpenTofu (DigitalOcean, Zenlayer, bare metal)
- Build out Prometheus metrics pipelines for billing and observability
- Harden security: network policies, firewall rules, air-gapping compliance
What You Bring
- 3+ years hands-on Kubernetes in production
- Strong networking fundamentals (VPNs, firewalls, NAT, routing)
- Infrastructure-as-code experience (Ansible, Terraform)
- Linux systems administration
- Security mindset — you think about attack surfaces
Nice to Have
- Firecracker, Kata Containers, or microVM isolation
- KNative or serverless infrastructure
- Rancher/RKE2 specifically
