Hi there! We are Testlio, a global software testing company with its own freelance network. Our freelancers test apps from companies across the globe. Testlio is a great place for people who value the freedom and flexibility of remote work.

At the moment, we are looking for freelance software testers based in Austria to join us for a new freelance, remote project.

We have partnered a telecommunications company, for which we will be testing out apps on a Magenta TV set-top-box. That’s why we’re looking for anyone interested in joining this freelance project, with or without QA testing experience, that already owns this device at home and is willing to learn the process of testing it out and finding potential defects. Your assistance will help improve various aspects of the device and the apps its supports for global users.

Here are some examples of the tasks you’ll be asked to perform:

• Verifying language accuracy, grammar, spelling, phrasing, and clarity
• Validating UI text across user flows on the Magenta TV STB interface
• Checking correctness of telecom-specific terminology
• Ensuring overall localization quality during production test runs
• Reporting linguistic bugs, inconsistencies, and unclear translations

Requirements

• Age: You have to be at least 18 years old.
• Availability: We will start with a 4-5 hour localization task, as described above. Then, we will continue the project with regular functional testing in which you will be asked to observe if the system has more than just language-based issues. For this second part of the project, we do not yet have a set schedule, but once we do we will let you know. Furthermore, we will be happy to work around your schedule as well, in order to establish a smooth collaboration.
• Devices & System requirements: We are looking for users who already have the following:
  • Magenta Telekom home Internet connection
  • Magenta TV service
  • Physical Set-Top Box (STB)
• Experience: Software testing experience is a plus, but if you are new to testing, we offer free courses to help you learn and grow.
  • We have a preparatory course that will teach you more about how to test on our website.
• Language: We are looking for Native German speaking testers.

What does testing look like?

• Type of testing: Localization and functional testing.
• Type of work: short-term, freelance.
• Pay rate: $20 USD / h.
• Payment: You are paid weekly via PayPal or Payoneer.
