Hey superstar,

Thanks for stopping by!

We’re Lingawa (formerly TopSet) and basically, we're transforming the way people connect with African languages. Backed by VCs, Google, Techstars, and the Mastercard Foundation.

As an innovative edtech AI platform, we're passionate about what we do: our mission is to ignite cultural pride and economic empowerment through African languages 🚀

We live this out by building cutting-edge Voice LLM solutions, bringing African languages into the AI era, and up-skilling indigenous speakers of African languages into world-class tutors with the latest learning science.

Now we’re looking for a committed Sales Associate to join our remote team, someone who is proactive, self-motivated, and passionate about connecting learners in the diaspora to the richness of African languages and is ready to start immediately.

The Position & You:

We are scaling quickly and looking for a results-driven Sales Associate who thrives in high-performance environments, takes initiative, and consistently follows through on tasks.

You will play a key role in our B2C sales efforts, engaging with leads via phone, text, email, and WhatsApp. You will help nurture interest, answer questions, and guide potential customers toward enrolling in the right learning plan for them.

What you’ll be doing in this role:

  • Successfully closing sales leads for Nigerians in the diaspora in the US and Canada who are interested in learning our native languages
  • Achieve the monthly sales target of paid learners through effective conversion and referral-driven growth.
  • Responding to learner/parent requests and liaising with tutors to manage the scheduling of lessons
  • Update and track all activities in the sales CRM, ensuring leads are followed up on promptly.
  • Due to the nature of our business, there will be some weekend work

Ideally, you have:

Experience

  • Sales experience
  • Exposure to international customers (North America-based preferred)
  • Experience and working knowledge of CRM systems, e.g. Zoho / Hubspot
  • Prior work in the Education or Tech Sectors

Skills & Abilities:

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a passion for customer service
  • Self-starter with a growth mindset and strong follow-through.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Resilience and Adaptability
  • Undergraduate degree
  • Ability to take the initiative and work independently
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suites
  • Strong prioritisation and organisation skills, and a sharp ability to multitask
  • Applicants must have a functioning laptop
  • Fluency in Igbo, Yoruba or Twi is an added advantage

Why You’ll Love Working Here:

  • High-Impact Work: Be part of a mission-driven company making a tangible difference in workforce development and cultural preservation in Africa.
  • Cutting-Edge Tech: Work with AI, cloud computing, and mobile-first solutions to shape the future of edtech.
  • Attractive Compensation: ₦400,000 gross per month, including uncapped commissions
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Fantastic health insurance, pension plans, and more.
  • Birthday PTO: Your birthday is a work-free day.
  • Remote-First Flexibility: Work from anywhere while contributing to a global mission.
  • Growth & Development: Opportunities to innovate, lead, and grow in a fast-moving environment.
