About the Job

We are seeking a Process Engineer who will be responsible for driving quality initiatives on our production line and ensuring adherence to the relevant standards. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the candidate will work closely with the Engineering, Supply chain, Quality, and manufacturing teams. You will use your technical expertise and experience to lead process improvements that improve quality and reduce costs.

This position is in-person at our office in Mississauga.

You will leverage their superior critical thinking and communication skills, as well as your adaptability and resourcefulness to ensure the ongoing success of Trexo's production facility.

What you'll do

  • Participate in design transfer activities and change management processes.

  • Develop assembly, rework and testing procedures to facilitate product manufacturing.

  • Lead selection, installation, and qualification for the tools and equipment utilized in manufacturing.

  • Provide training and guidance to Production technicians.

  • Support equipment calibration and maintenance processes.

  • Lead software, measurement system and process validation activities for the production process.

  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and employ creative problem-solving techniques.

  • Collaborate with supply chain on supplier quality initiatives.

  • Participate in Non-conformance Process.

  • Participate in the creation/updating of PFMEA documentation.

Required Skills/Experience

  • 3+ years of expertise in Medical Devices Manufacturing, Testing, or Process Engineering.

  • Ability to read and follow mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and bills of materials, including good knowledge of GD&T.

  • Experience working in an electro-mechanical assembly environment.

  • Knowledge of different manufacturing processes: CNC Machining, PCBA manufacturing, Cable Assembly, Injection Molding, etc.

  • Working knowledge of relevant medical device regulations and guidance, especially around production control and process validation (e.g., ISO 13485).

  • Expertise in lean manufacturing principles.

Nice to Have

  • Experience implementing an ERP or MRP

  • Experience using Solidworks

  • Fixture and Tooling Design Experience

  • Experience working with Linux Devices and/or Python Scripting
