About the job

We are looking for a well-rounded Full-Stack Developer who is ready to take ownership and drive innovation. In this role, you will manage backend services and play a key role in developing web and mobile applications for both internal and external users. You will work closely with a small, dynamic team to build and maintain robust solutions, ensuring seamless integration across platforms.

Our current tech stack: Go, Python, MySQL, SQLite, Android (Kotlin), AWS, Puppet

This position is hybrid (3 days in our office in Mississauga).

About you

You are eager to work in a small team tackling a big problem and making a meaningful impact on an underserved community. Detail-oriented and collaborative, you thrive in team environments. You have proven experience with backend and cloud infrastructure, but you are also comfortable working on the front-end or developing Android applications. While you may not be fluent in every technology, your strong foundation in software development equips you to quickly learn and adapt.

What you'll do

• Develop new features and maintain our infrastructure and tools used for patient data and fleet management, including Over-the-Air (OTA) updates.

• Manage backend systems in Go, including implementing new features and ensuring overall system stability.

• Build web dashboards from scratch for both internal and external users to control, monitor, and access detailed information about their devices.

• Create and maintain our Android application to control our device.

• Collaborate with the robotics software developer to integrate software solutions with robotic hardware.

• Implement and maintain continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

• Oversee and manage our AWS cloud infrastructure.

Required Skills and Experience

• 3+ years experience as a Full Stack Developer. Ideally, you have worked in a small-team or startup environment.

• Extensive experience with backend software with databases in Go and MySQL.

• Proficient in managing and maintaining AWS cloud services and architecture.

• Experience with configuration management tools like Chef / Puppet / Ansible / SaltStack.

• Experience in building front-end applications using frameworks like React, Next.js, or Django.

• Experience in designing and developing mobile applications for Android (Kotlin).

• Experience with software development life cycle, ideally per IEC 62304.

• Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and common vulnerabilities in web and mobile applications.

• Proficient in using security auditing and penetration testing tools.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Python, C, or C++.

• Experience working with Linux.

• Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System) or similar robotics frameworks.

• Experience with cross-platform app development.
