About us

Trexo Robotics is enabling mobility by building powered wearable robots. Our first product is a robot for children with movement disorders such as Cerebral Palsy, and it allows kids to walk, in many cases, for the first time in their lives. The device is currently being used by hundreds of families and the best hospitals across North America.

We are constantly working towards building mobility solutions for all. At Trexo Robotics, you will find a flat organization where you can work with highly optimistic, low ego, and exceptionally talented individuals who look forward to solving hard problems.

About the Job

We're looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer intern to embed with our internal teams - sales, ops, customer success, RA/QA, finance - figure out where work actually breaks, and build the automations, agents, dashboards, and tools that unblock it. As we've grown, the quick tools and no-code workflows that got us here are straining: things break silently, ownership is unclear, data lives in silos, and some early architecture wasn't built to last. Your job is to go deep on a real bottleneck, ship a durable fix, and turn scattered operational data into insight the team can act on. We're moving quickly toward AI-native internal tooling (a lot of Claude Code scripts and agentic automations), so comfort building with LLMs is central to the role, not a bonus.

This is not a shadow internship - you'll write real code that colleagues depend on, sit with the people whose work you're automating, and own projects end to end. This role will report to the CEO, Manmeet Maggu.

What you'll do

  • Embed with internal teams to map how work actually happens (not how the process doc says it does), and find the highest-leverage bottlenecks to automate.

  • Build AI-powered internal tools and agents - largely Claude Code scripts, agentic workflows, and LLM-driven automations for data cleanup, triage, drafting, and internal Q&A - and write Python/JavaScript for webhooks, integrations, and the edge cases no-code tools can't cover.

  • Audit, repair, and re-architect brittle automations and no-code workflows (Zapier/Make, Airtable, Salesforce) into maintainable ones, integrating messy real-world systems: CRMs, email, calendars, spreadsheets, internal databases, and semi-broken APIs.

  • Pull data from across our tools into clean, trustworthy datasets with pipelines that keep them current, and build operational dashboards people actually use: funnel and pipeline performance, engagement and retention, device reliability, and automation health.

  • Define and track KPIs with the teams who own them, instrumenting the underlying data so metrics are accurate and auditable rather than eyeballed; use SQL, scripting, and LLMs for ad-hoc analysis and reconciling records across systems.

  • Turn data into decisions - surface at-risk clients, declining retention, and process bottlenecks, and translate findings into clear recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Add monitoring, alerting, and documentation so failures in automations and pipelines are caught early and tools survive past your internship; follow consent and privacy best practices when automating communications and handling data.

Required Skills

  • Must be enrolled in a co-op program.

  • Experience with scripting languages, especially Python and JavaScript.

  • Hands-on experience building with LLMs outside of class - hackathons, side projects, automation scripts, internal tools. Bonus if it had real users; extra bonus if they complained to you about something.

  • Strong SQL and comfort with relational data - joining across tables, cleaning messy data, reasoning about data quality - plus solid Excel/Google Sheets (lookups, pivot tables).

  • Experience building dashboards or reports others rely on, and the judgment to know which metrics matter and which are noise.

  • Familiarity with REST APIs, webhooks, and JSON.

  • Ability to explain technical ideas and data findings to non-technical people, and enjoy doing it; excellent communication, strong interpersonal skills, and high EQ.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Claude Code, Cursor, or similar agentic coding tools.

  • Experience with BI/dashboarding tools (Tableau, Quicksight, Looker, Metabase, or similar).

  • Experience with Airtable, Zapier/Make, or CRMs like Salesforce (flows, fields, reports).

  • Familiarity with data pipeline / ETL concepts, workflow orchestration (n8n, LangChain), or MCP-based integrations.

  • Basic understanding of funnel analytics and marketing attribution.
