Urban Sky is a venture-backed aerospace startup that pioneers the utilization of the stratosphere and reimagines the way humans view and analyze the earth. We design, build, operate, and sell stratospheric balloon systems, and the data we collect supports a wide range of applications, from real-time wildfire monitoring to urban mapping. The Role:

This is a full time hourly position. Urban Sky manufactures stratospheric balloons and unique high altitude payload systems almost entirely at our facility in Denver, CO. The company is in a period of rapid growth, and over the next year we plan to substantially increase the rate at which we manufacture our balloon systems. We are looking for an R&D Manufacturing Technician to help build several automation systems and new balloon manufacturing stations. This person would also be a member of the manufacturing team responsible for building balloons as part of the manufacturing team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build large manufacturing equipment for building high altitude balloons.
• Building high altitude balloons

Requirements

• Proficient fabricator capable of general assembly and experience in at least one trade such as machining, welding, sewing etc.
• Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Must be located in Denver, CO

Nice-to-Haves:

• A jack-of-all trades type will do well in this role
• Start-up experience
• Experience manufacturing soft goods

Benefits:

• Base pay $25 - $30 / hr
