About The Role
As the Software Engineering Manager for Veho’s Marketplace teams, you’ll lead the strategy and execution for the team as they work closely with Product to build out features and functionality in our pricing, offering and routing APIs, as well as internal UIs and driver facing mobile applications. You will partner with product, engineering, DS, and operations stakeholders to deliver impact in the marketplace and route building spaces, including how driver partners claim routes, how Veho fairly prices effort for deliveries and how Veho incentives drivers to deliver top tier consumer experiences. On a daily basis, you will help the team solve tactical problems that improve and redefine the marketplace experience.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Leading and supporting the overall development life cycle of the Driver Marketplace and Core Route Building teams, managing complex projects with significant bottom-line impact
  • Working with product managers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to define strategy, and execute on the teams’ road map to provide industry differentiating capabilities for a variety of product lines and platforms
  • Instilling best practices for software development and documentation, assuring designs meet requirements, and delivering high-quality work on schedule
  • Navigating prioritization, planning, and execution of projects and features, including stakeholder management, and tracking of external commitments
  • Translating business requirements into technical solutions, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and leading engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions
  • Monitoring the operational success of production services
  • Collaborating on and participating in recruiting, hiring, and on-boarding strategies and processes
  • Direct management of engineers including performance management, growth and development, and other responsibilities
  • Technical know how and willingness to get hands-on involved in development when required
What you'll bring
  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • 2+ years of experience of engineering leadership and management
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience
  • Willingness to partner with stakeholders to solve complex business problems, with a proactive, impact focused leadership approach
  • Proven track record of building high performing teams
  • Solid software development background including design patterns, data structures, and best practices in scalability, reliability and observability
  • Deep software development experience building highly scalable applications, with proficiency in server-side languages such as Javascript, Typescript, React, Node.js etc and experience with data structures and algorithms and knowledge of relational (DynamoDB) and non relational (postgres) databases
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical information effectively to internal and external/non-technical stakeholders
