Director of Strategic Operations
Veho
About Veho
About the Role
What You'll Do
- Drive strategic planning and execution: Partner with the CPO to define quarterly and annual priorities, then drive accountability across product, operations, engineering, and finance to deliver against them
- Own operating cadences: Design and run staff meetings, business reviews, and planning cycles that improve decision-making velocity and cross-functional alignment
- Solve cross-functional problems: Drive resolution on issues spanning multiple teams; serve as a proxy for the CPO in meetings and workstreams when needed
- Lead special projects: Take on high-priority initiatives that don't fit neatly into existing team structures—M&A diligence, org design, new market analysis, and more
- Shape executive communications: Prepare board materials, investor updates, and leadership presentations that drive alignment and decisions
What Success Looks Like
- Designed and implemented operating cadences that measurably improve decision-making velocity
- Successfully led 3-5 high-priority strategic initiatives from concept to completion with clear ROI
- Become a trusted proxy for the CPO, freeing up 10+ hours/week of executive time
- Built strong relationships across Product, Operations, Engineering, and Finance—recognized as a go-to problem solver
What We're Looking For
- 6-10 years in strategy, operations, consulting, or a high-ownership business role
- Track record of leading cross-functional initiatives with measurable outcomes
- Previous exposure to executive leadership—either as a direct report or close partner to C-suite
- Experience in high-growth environments (Series B+ or rapid scaling)
- Logistics, supply chain, marketplace, or technology industry background preferred
- Bonus: Management consulting (MBB, Big 4 strategy) or investment banking/PE background
- Structures ambiguous problems and drives them to resolution without heavy oversight
- Builds financial models, analyzes data, and synthesizes insights into actionable recommendations
- Communicates complex ideas clearly—can tailor message to the board, ICs, or external partners
- Manages multiple workstreams simultaneously with strong attention to detail
- Navigates organizational dynamics with discretion and high EQ
- High integrity: Handles sensitive information with discretion
- Intense drive: Constantly raises the bar and pushes for positive change
- Bias toward action: Comfortable making decisions with incomplete information
- Low ego, high ownership: Focuses on outcomes over credit
- Influence without authority: Gets things done through relationships, not org chart
- Intellectually curious: Genuinely wants to understand how the business works end-to-end
