Your Responsibilities:
- Manage and enhance Venteur’s accounting functions, including month-end close, reporting, compliance, and audit readiness.
- Lead projects such as designing chart of accounts and performing entity rollups and consolidations.
- Refine and ensure organizational-wide compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
- Manage all accounting operations, including general ledger, AR/AP, revenue recognition, and payroll accounting.
- Oversee complex cash reconciliations and compliance for FBO accounts and third-party custodial relationships.
- Partner with the VP of Finance to deliver accurate, timely financial statements and company reports.
- Drive systems implementation and automation to support scale and efficiency.
- Ensure GAAP compliance and manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
Basic Requirements:
- 8+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3+ years as a Controller or senior finance leader at a growth-stage startup.
- CPA required; experience in public accounting a plus.
- Direct experience helping a company scale through funding rounds.
- Successful track record of implementing accounting tools like Netsuite, Sage Intact, or other accounting tools - including customization and integration - in a high-growth environment.
- Deep understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and accounting operations.
- Proven ability to implement structure and operate in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Excellent communicator who can collaborate across teams and translate complex financial concepts into clear business insights.
