About the role
One of Vested's core values is to make data-informed decisions. We are looking for data engineers to build and maintain datasets, tools and infrastructure that allow us to make decisions reliably and efficiently across product, strategy, and operations. You will work closely with business/data analysts, engineers, and key decision-makers across the company to identify key data analytics needs and be able to generate meaningful insights. You will be responsible for architecting and building the tools and infrastructure required to support these needs, and ensuring these are high quality, robust, easy to maintain, and scalable. This is a highly collaborative effort, and as such, a strong team player with a commitment to perfection is required.
What we're seeking
Experience
3+ years of experience with SQL and Python
1+ years of experience building ETL pipelines and working with tools to support those pipelines (Jenkins)
1+ years of experience building data warehouses (AWS Redshift) and working with PostgreSQL databases (AWS RDS), and related tools
Experience with working with time series data
Experience with sanitizing and scaling growing data sets from multiple data sources
Familiarity with data visualization tools
Familiarity with code versioning and review tools like Git and GitHub
Familiarity with Node.js and NoSQL databases is a plus.
Additional qualities
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements and vice versa
Ability to implement, document, and communicate architecture, design decisions, and processes
Ability to write readable, clean code
A knack for benchmarking and optimization
Rock solid at working with third-party dependencies and debugging dependency conflicts
Ability to implement feedback, learn quickly, and contribute new ideas
A proactive mindset and independent problem solver

A strong team player with strong verbal and written communication
A self-motivator and entrepreneurial spirit with unrelenting passion to deliver the best service possible and is willing to come up with solutions by diving deep into the core of the problem - this role will reward entrepreneurial and creative problem solvers who approach challenges with curiosity and a solutions-oriented mindset
