About the role
We are looking for a DevOps engineer with experience building and scaling services in a cloud environment. You will work closely alongside tech team leads and the CTO to identify and establish DevOps practices in the company.
You will be responsible for building high performing, stable, and secure infrastructure that is scalable and efficient (e.g. automation, cost-effective solutions), as well as work alongside other technical team leads in training and guiding the team in DevOps practices. This includes:
Improving CI/CD tooling
Implementing and improving monitoring and alerting
Improving security practices
Building and maintaining highly available systems
Leading and guiding the team in identifying and implementing new technologies
Build high-performing web and native applications that are robust and easy to maintain
Provide technical expertise (e.g. constraints, possibilities) early on in the product ideation and requirements gathering phase
What we're seeking
Experience
3+ years in systems/software architecture (relevant technologies, see below)
3+ years in DevOps (relevant technologies, see below)
Experience building high performing, stable, and secure infrastructure that is scalable and efficient
Experience with the technologies and tools we use: Node.js, React, React Native, Fastify, PostgreSql, AWS (ElastiCache for Redis, Aurora / RDS, S3, Lambda, Elastic Beanstalk, EC2, VPC, SQS, Cognito, IAM, WAF, Route 53, CloudFront, CodePipeline, CloudWatch), GitHub, Postman
Experience deploying and maintaining a micro-service architecture
Experience with server-less infrastructure paradigms
Strong knowledge of AWS
Strong knowledge of security best practices (relevant experience in fintech preferred)
Additional qualities
Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements and vice versa
Ability to implement, document, and communicate architecture, design decisions, and processes
A knack for benchmarking and optimization
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Rock solid at working with third-party dependencies and debugging dependency conflicts
Ability to implement feedback, learn quickly, and contribute new ideas
A proactive mindset and independent problem solver

A strong team player with strong verbal and written communication
