Description

We are seeking a strategic and experienced EVP of Government Relations to lead our government relations efforts at the federal, state, and international levels. Reporting directly to the Group CEO, the EVP of Government Relations will be responsible for shaping our government relations strategy, building, and maintaining relationships with government officials, conducting business development activities with US and Foreign government actors, and advocating for policies and regulations that support our business interests.

The ideal candidate will have a strong dedication to corporate responsibility and advocacy, we strive to build positive relationships with governments at all levels to support our business objectives and contribute to the communities we serve.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive government relations strategy to advance the company's objectives at the federal, state, and international levels.
  • Identify key legislative and regulatory priorities and opportunities, and develop advocacy plans to support our positions on critical issues.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for government officials and policymakers, and represent the company's interests in meetings, hearings, and other interactions.
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships with industry associations, advocacy groups, and other stakeholders to amplify our voice and influence in the policy-making process.
  • Engage in direct lobbying efforts, including drafting legislation, regulatory comments, and testimony, and mobilizing support for key initiatives. Implement advocacy campaigns to build support for our positions among policymakers, legislators, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor geopolitical trends and developments that may impact the company's operations and government relations efforts, and provide strategic advice based on geopolitical analysis.
  • Manage relationships with foreign governments and international organizations to support our global business objectives.
  • Conduct and manage a team of sales staff in conducting business development with US agencies and foreign governments.
  • Work closely with legal and regulatory affairs teams to address compliance issues and mitigate regulatory risks.
  • Partner with Human Resources to recruit, retain and develop top talent for the Government Relations team ensuring KPIs and goals are aligned with company objectives.

Subject to applicable laws and Vita Inclinata’s policies, regular attendance is an essential function of the position. All employees must follow Vita Inclinatas’ employment practices and policies.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises employees in the Government Relations team. Carries out Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, selecting, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. For Exempt Managers: Managers that carry out these responsibilities for two or more employees will have significant input in hiring and termination decisions.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) from four-year college or university and 10+ years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Advanced degree in political science, public policy, international relations, law, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in government relations, public affairs, lobbying, or related fields, with extensive experience working at the federal, state, and international levels.
  • Strong understanding of the legislative and regulatory process, with the ability to navigate complex policy issues and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing sales activity within the US Government or foreign governments.
  • Experience with sound judgment and political acumen, with the ability to navigate sensitive political situations and manage competing interests with integrity and professionalism.
  • Experience working in the aerospace industry or other highly regulated sectors is a plus, but not required.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute effective advocacy campaigns and influence public policy outcomes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments, and to effectively manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong network of relationships with government officials, policymakers, industry associations, and advocacy groups at the federal, state, and international levels.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex policy issues, identify opportunities and risks, and develop effective strategies to achieve desired outcomes.

Compensation

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the total compensation for this role is $175,000 - $350,000 per year, however, Vita Inclinata Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
