Material Handler I

We are a growing industrial manufacturing company looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Level 1 Material Handler to join our team in Denver. In this role, you will act as the "heartbeat" of our operation, ensuring the smooth flow of raw materials to our production floor and finished products to our customers.
As a Level 1 position, this is an entry-to-intermediate role. We are looking for someone eager to learn our specific products and inventory systems. You will report to our Production Control Manager and will work primarily in a warehouse and production environment, utilizing forklifts and other material handling equipment to maintain inventory accuracy and support manufacturing goals.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:
Receiving (Inbound):
· Safely unload incoming freight carriers using a forklift or pallet jack.
· Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders (POs) and packing slips to ensure accuracy of quantity and part numbers.
· Inspect received goods for visible damage and document discrepancies immediately.
· Label and tag raw materials for identification before moving them to storage.
Shipping (Outbound):
· Pick, pack, and palletize finished goods for shipment according to customer orders.
· Securely shrink-wrap pallets and apply proper shipping labels and documentation (Bills of Lading).
· Coordinate with carriers (UPS, FedEx, LTL freight) to load trucks safely and efficiently.
Inventory Control & Material Movement:
· Perform physical bin transfers, physically moving stock between storage locations and production areas, and digitally recording the transfer in the inventory system.
· Supply production lines with raw materials on time to prevent downtime.
· Participate in daily cycle counts and annual physical inventory audits to ensure 100% data accuracy.
· Keep the warehouse organized, clean, and free of debris (following 5S principles).
Equipment Operation:
· Operate sit-down forklifts, stand-up reach trucks, and manual pallet jacks.
· Perform daily pre-shift safety inspections on forklifts and report maintenance needs.
Subject to applicable laws and Vita Inclinata’s policies, regular attendance is an essential function of the position. All employees must follow Vita Inclinata's employment practices and policies.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
· 0–2 years of experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or shipping/receiving environment.
· Previous forklift experience is highly preferred (certification is a plus, but we are willing to train and certify the right candidate).
· Experience using a handheld scanner or inventory management software is a plus.
Skills
· Attention to Detail: Ability to match long part numbers and identify subtle differences in products.
· Math Skills: Proficient in basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication) for accurate counting and weighing of parts.
· Computer Literacy: Basic comfort with computers for printing labels, entering data, and checking email.
· Communication: Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly to communicate with team members and truck drivers.
· Reliability: Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a safety-first mindset are non-negotiable.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
· Lifting: Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs frequently.
· Mobility: Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch for the duration of an 8-10 hour shift.
· Environment: Work is performed in a warehouse/industrial setting. Candidates must be comfortable working in a facility with fluctuating temperatures (open dock doors in Denver winters and summers) and moderate noise levels.

Compensation
In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the compensation for this role is $20 - $26/hr; however, Vita Inclinata Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
