🚀 The Role:

As a Senior Data Engineer / Scientist at VOIDS, you will be at the forefront of transforming e-commerce with our state-of-the-art AI solutions. Your expertise will play a pivotal role in enhancing our AI-driven demand forecasting and shaping solutions, empowering our clients to optimize their operations and drive growth through data and AI.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a sprint-based start-up environment to develop cloud-based data pipelines and deep learning models from prototype to production.
• Leverage your understanding of e-commerce data sources and data science experience to find the right data sourcing, processing, and modelling approach, maximizing the impact on customers' businesses.
• Build scalable and secure big data pipelines to integrate marketing, sales, supply chain, and external data sources into our data warehouses and lakes.
• Enhance the quality and scalability of our deep learning forecasting and generative AI models with your domain expertise in the e-commerce and retail field.
• Optimize data models, access patterns, and processing with complex algorithms using tools like AWS Glue, Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks, Spark, DBT, Apache Airflow, Kinesis, and Prefect.
• Ensure data quality, versioning, and documentation while integrating large-scale external datasets via APIs, FTP, S3, or web scraping using reliable, repeatable processes.
• Mentor and guide top talent, nurturing their skills and integrating innovative technologies into our tech stack.

Requirements:

• +7 years of experience in complex data models, preprocessing pipelines, ETL processes, and ingestion pipelines for deep learning time series forecasting and demand shaping in the e-commerce domain.
• Proficiency in Python, PyTorch, PySpark, SQL, and experience with AWS, along with data engineering and science tools such as AWS Sagemaker, AWS Glue, DBT, Spark, Apache Airflow.
• Strong understanding of database architecture, data modeling, and optimization techniques, including experience with data warehouses, data lakes, PostgreSQL, star/snowflake schemas, and columnar formats like Parquet and Avro.
• In-depth knowledge of e-commerce enablement software and data sources / APIs of various large-scale online marketing solutions, inventory/procurement software, as well as shop/marketplace systems to find solutions using complex data engineering and machine learning models.
• Several years of hands-on experience building and implementing large deep learning models (mostly transformers) for time series forecasting and generative AI in the cloud.
• Excellent communication skills in English, with German being a plus.
