What We Do

Every company in America has a marketing compliance problem. They just don't know it yet.

Right now, billion-dollar brands are getting sued, fined, and shut down because a landing page had the wrong disclaimer. A social post missed a disclosure. An influencer went off-script. The legal review process is broken: weeks of back-and-forth, bottlenecked by overworked compliance teams, while competitors ship faster.

Warrant is the AI-powered marketing compliance platform for regulated industries. We help banks, credit unions, insurers, and enterprises ship marketing faster without ending up in front of their regulators or in a lawsuit. Our platform scans content against 3,000+ federal and state regulations, runs approval workflows, and serves as the system of record for every marketing and social media asset a regulated company produces.

We won the pitch competition at Fintech Meetup. We're backed by Legal Tech Fund, Brickyard, Capitalize VC, Techstars, and Vast Ventures. We're not building a feature. We're building the category.

Who We Are

Warrant's pace is not for everyone. We're in the office five days a week. We routinely put in 10+ hour days and weekends are not off-limits. If you need someone to tell you when to start and stop working, this isn't for you.

Successful team members do not wait for assignments. They internalize a mission, design a strategy, and ship results that are better, faster, and more creative than anyone could have asked for. If you'd rather outwork the competition than complain about work-life balance, you're our people.

Who We Need

Warrant seeks an Engineering Lead to be a founding engineer building the product, the platform, and the team alongside the CEO and CTO. This is not a heads-down ticket-closing role. You'll be in the codebase every day, on calls with customers every week, and shaping the technical direction of a category-defining company.

This is a unique opportunity for a experienced software engineer and vibe coder who wants to be founding employee on the engineering side. You'll contribute to the stack, set the bar for how we ship, and have a direct hand in every product decision we make for the next 18 months.

What You'll Do
  • Build the product. You're shipping features end-to-end: frontend, backend, integrations, infra. You'll work in TypeScript/Node, Python, and modern AWS, and you'll move fast. We expect new code in production every day.
  • Ship AI-native features. LLMs are core to the platform: retrieval, evals, prompting, agentic workflows. You'll design and ship the systems that make the product feel magical to compliance officers who have never seen anything like it.
  • Set the engineering bar. You'll help us define how we test, deploy, monitor, and review. Not heavy process — the lightest possible process that keeps us shipping safely. Architecture decisions, tool choices, and our internal AI dev loop are yours to own.
  • Get on customer calls. You'll join calls with compliance officers, GCs, and CISOs. You'll run security architecture reviews with bank CISOs in the morning and pair with a customer admin on a config issue in the afternoon. You'll turn customer pain into product the rest of the team can act on.
  • Lead onsite implementations when needed. Roughly 25% travel to banks, credit unions, law firms, and enterprises. You'll stand up the platform inside their environment, configure SSO/SCIM, walk security teams through our architecture, and unblock go-lives. Bugs you find onsite are bugs you fix in the codebase that week.
  • Own security and SOC 2. Partner with the CEO and CTO on evidence, customer security questionnaires, and the architecture decisions that keep us defensible in a regulated buyer's environment.
What We're Looking For
  • 3–5 years shipping production software. Ideally at a SaaS company, or you've shipped your own real web app that people use. You can hold your own across the stack: frontend, backend, infra, integrations.
  • You're a "cracked vibe coder." Not in a "I've used Cursor" way. In a "I've internalized Claude Code, I have my own agentic dev loop, and I ship in a day what used to take a week" way. You're fluent with AI-assisted development and you see every engineer who isn't as someone shipping at half speed.
  • You're design-minded. You care what the product looks like, how it feels, how a workflow lands for a compliance officer who's been doing this for 20 years. You're not waiting for a designer to tell you what to build.
  • You ship. You're not precious about how a line of code gets written as long as the result is solid. You believe shipping beats perfection, but you know which corners are load-bearing.
  • You're great with customers. You can run a security architecture review with a bank CISO at 9am and pair with an admin on a config issue at 2pm without breaking stride. You write clearly and async, written and video communication is how we operate.
  • You're comfortable with ~25% travel. Onsite implementations, customer visits, and the occasional conference.
  • You want to be a founding employee. You want equity, ownership, and the chance to set the bar — not the comfort of joining a 200-person eng org.
Bonus Points
  • You've been employee #1–15 at a seed or Series A startup.
  • Direct experience with LLM-based features in production: retrieval, evals, prompting, agents.
  • IT / solutions / implementations background at an enterprise SaaS company. You speak SSO, SCIM, SAML, Active Directory, and corporate IT politics fluently.
  • You've shipped software at banks, credit unions, or insurers and know the rhythms of regulated buyers.
  • Direct experience with compliance, marketing tech, DAM, or workflow/approval products.
  • You're already in or willing to relocate to the Durham, NC, we're building our team here.
What You Get
  • Competitive compensation. $65,000–$100,000 base depending on experience.
  • Real equity. Ownership in a category-creating company. We lean equity-heavy on purpose — founding engineers should own a meaningful piece of what they build.
  • Direct access to the CEO and founding team. Not a suggestion box. You're in the room for every decision.
  • Health insurance, with options for dental and vision.
  • A front-row seat to building something that changes how every regulated company in America goes to market.
Logistics
  • Onsite in Durham, NC. Office 5 days a week.
  • ~25% travel for customer implementations.
  • Work authorization: we don't sponsor visas, but we can accommodate STEM OPT.
How to Get an Interview

Don't just apply. Show us how you build. Send a note to austin@hellowarrant.com with a link to something you've shipped or vibe coded and a few sentences on what interested you about the role. Skip the cover letter and AI slop. Creativity encouraged.
