merch.eco conducts detailed ethical research on clothing suppliers so that they can shift groups that buy merchandise to more ethnic suppliers. The clothing industry is currently extremely exploitative, both of people and of nature. 300 million people are employed in the industry, and there is no regulation to give them a living wage, basic health and safety or prevent modern slavery. Toxic dyes, water pollution, microplastics and degenerative farming practices are destroying their health and our ecosystems. They track where the money is moving, and use these financial signals to directly show clothing suppliers that soon, the most ethical companies will be the most profitable. 🇬🇧

Role (Volunteer): Supplier Relationship Coordinator.

Role Description:

• Create and implement an outreach strategy tailored to each supplier
• Proactively approach prospects via Linkedin, email, and/or virtual events
• Ensure that all suppliers rated by merch.eco have an accurate picture of our organisation
• Build trust and mutual understanding between merch.eco and all rated suppliers
• Help suppliers use merch.eco’s data to make ethical improvements to their businesses
• Help other merch.eco teams to learn from the wants and needs of clothing suppliers

Time Commitment: Volunteer 4-6 hours per week remotely for 3-5 months 💻
